Yeah, anatomy is a big thing to work on in my case. In my mind its just supposed to be water, but that was utterly hard to make realistic... another thing to work on.. lol
Glad to have you man, and I agree, some highlighs would be nice. Also the perspective feels a bit off, remember to flip the image horizontally every now and then!
Nice material on the sword, I guess the "cloth" on the handle would have a lot less sharp highlights. On the other hand, it works if its supposed to be leather or tape.
The shield looks nice but what holds it togheter? Is it magic? Magnets?
Was going for a leather material on the handle so thats cool that it reads like it. Had those steel bars from the gap on the sword in the gap on the shield aswell but somehow turned off the layer before i saved it and somehow didnt notice that i forgot them in that image. Anyway they are gone now ^^
Day 3: progress on the shield.
The only crit i can come up with for your image is that her left foot is in a weird angle.

Nice work on the shield, think you should probably add some details from the sword to the shield. Maybe keep those bars anyway and use them somewhere? just to tie it all together
Nice work on the shield! And that creature is quite interesting
When coloring with overlay remember to keep your grayscale values somewhere around 50% (not to white not to black) or your colors will probably be washed out and dull. Multiply is also nice for coloring and a combination of Multiply, Soft light and overlay can be another nice thing to try.
What about some yellow? So you get that DANGER! tape feel
About the grass texture - Dunu man looks pretty nice to me, maybe a bit plastic fell to it? The important thing is that it´s seamless and dont have to obvious a pattern when repeated.
really like the design of the creatures and the mood. The only crit is perhaps a little bit more "pop" and higher contrast (still subtle) would be nice.
Leodido: Thanks man!
Windh: Thanks! Yeah I agree, more contrast could be nice.
Twoflower: Thanks! Nice prop, u got a good 3D feeling there for your concept. The perspective is a bit off on some parts of the image though.
AnDEATH: Heya man Nice to see you joining in! Yeah np It´s mostly I who draw every singel day like crazy
Nice clouds, liking that robe too, a little inspiration from journey maybe?
I guess if I would give some feedback it would be to Fade the lower left corner more, so that it looks like its slooping downwards. Some more change in the values here and there and it gold ^^
ErikNilsson: thanks, nice thumbnails. The upper left is my fave.
AnDeath: thats some nice cloth there
windh:Yeah should really have made some perspective lines.
n.s: think some highlights on the pillars would have been nice
Great stuff TwoFlower, think you need to work more on background/middleground/foreground. And blending them togehter.
Welcome to the thread Frell! Looks like a good start, try losening upp the pose a bit. Here is a good site for practicing poses and anatomy - http://lovecastle.org/draw/
Tried to reduce the value shifts between fore/middle/bakground so that they would blend better together. Thanks for the advice erik! super useful
Day 11
Snakes (or rattlesnakes, to be more accurate), birds of prey, Mexican horned lizards, other lizards, turtles, dinosaurs and frogs. Plenty of fun.
About your self portrait: I think the eyes are too big, aren't they? And the chin too prominent while the neck seems too slim. I'm no expert on you, of course, but by looking at your picture at the TGA-page, that's my conclusion.
I think the size of the irises makes it look a bit lazy and tired as well. I've found out that people (counting myself) often make the irises and the pupils too large.
Anyway. Here's my today thing. Geek points to anyone who can guess what it is:

day 1
Giving up on the last pic and continuing on to some weapons, trying to get a grip on this whole blending business. Haveing a hard time with the shield
Day 2

here is my day 65 -
day 4.
Will continue on the shield tomorrow (later today :S). Yeah will try adding som stuff from the sword to the shield so the look like a pair.
Hah, digg that wierd helmet.
day 5.
Tried to color them using color mode on layers but they didn't turn out that well.

Here is my day 66, just some doodles -
day 6
tried to handpaint a grass texture, think the strands are too random and i should pointed more of them in same direction
Awesome to see how much you guys have evolved since page #1.
Your character sketches are really starting to look killer Erik! :nerd:

My day 68, practising them faces! -
a quick concpet for a 1k tris model.
Day 7.
The fruit stand reminds me a bit about the market in Beyond good and evil. Cool stuff!
Day 69 - Started out as an environment doodle and turned into flying squids! -
really like the design of the creatures and the mood. The only crit is perhaps a little bit more "pop" and higher contrast (still subtle) would be nice.
So here is quick sketch for an assignment where we have to create a diablo 3 prop with 400 tris, will model it tomorrow.
Day 8
And i need to stop doing these at 2am in the morning <.<
I like clouds

My day 70! -
almost didn't make it today :V
Nice and poppin´ red!
The perspective seems a bit off. It´s like the surface follows one perspective and the prop another.
AnDeath: thats some nice cloth there
windh:Yeah should really have made some perspective lines.

fun seeing more people posting in here
day 9
(look at the painting first or its the first thing youll notice)

Day 10
Cool stuff there Twoflower, nice highlights and shadows, remember to look at those refernces while working!
Day 72 -
Day 11
Twoflower: Nice work! Try to make things in the distace less detailed and more "fluffy" around the edges, looking good so far
