I'm working on texturing Square from Ashley Wood's World War Robot. I used the kuler site to extract a color palette from one of his paintings, and I'm shotting for a more gestural approach like his work. All hand painted.
always blown away by the stuff up here. Working on this thing on and off for a a couple of weeks now. kinda getting together. some sizing issues but getting there. already posted the separate assets before.
Did this quick sculpt from a sphere and watched the polypaint tutoriel scoobydoofus put out which is awesome haha and also had a picture of the dishonored high overseer up when i did this so its a mix of a few things haha .
lol my zbrush render back ground is exactly the same as the page colour
I'm currently getting back into some enviroment work and after seeing some the great work being done on Star wars 1313 i wanted to have a stab at creating one of their scenes in Unreal.
I'm working with a couple of the guys that have posted now and then over the last few weeks on an Amnesia inspired, Lovecraft mythos based survival-horror game called Nyarlothotep. Here are some assets I've been making over the last few weeks.
Shoggoth variation based on concept art by Ashley Sarroca, and a thanks to Kyle Bromley for the awesome render of my sculpt out of 3ds Max:
Nyarlothotep/Hastur as the King in Yellow, thanks once again to Kyle for the Max render of my sculpt:
Rendered in Marmoset:
This Shoggoth egg was based on a concept by Ashley Sarocca. This asset was a team effort. I sculpted and painted the bulbous egg while Kyle created the webbing at the top.
Screen grabs from UDK (wireframe from marmoset)
Finally, some organic walls based on concepts by Ashley:
I am going to echo Craig's post above about our Lovecraft based game were working on...we all love it. Below is some of my recent work and some screenshots of how the level currently looks.
Other core members on the team are Craig Mesaros, Ashley Sarocca, Lucas Michel, Cameron Jordan, Doug Wilson, and Kiara Lowery
Nyarlothotep looks like it's going to be amazing. Great art Kbrom12 and cmesaros and everyone else working on the project. Is there a devblog or anything up?
Make a thread for Nyarlathotep! Looks fantastic. I love Lovecraft. I just read through his complete works, in fact.
I'd love to have all this beautiful stuff together in one thread!
I have been hiding for quite a while now whilst looking at the great work on here I have finally been encouraged to post my personal work outside of day to day studio life....so here is the beginning of my first hardsurface character. Its from a concept I created with some great feedback from fightpunch (cheers fella)!
@ZeroCartin: Thanks! Lulu has a really old looking face as it is (if you take a look at the shape of it on lolskinviewer.com) and when she was released on PBE, a lot of the players said they hated it. Before her final release, I went over it again and airbrushed out all of her original shapes so that she'd look a bit more youthful. I think it's because this skin has a real flesh tone that it changes her look so much, but I did what I could! XP
