Another monster for my "one a day" challenge... bit of a cop out today, did a fish xD only spent 4 hours on him. Will make up for it in tomorrows monster. 2.3k tris 1k textures
I have been hiding for quite a while now whilst looking at the great work on here I have finally been encouraged to post my personal work outside of day to day studio life....so here is the beginning of my first hardsurface character. Its from a concept I created with some great feedback from fightpunch (cheers fella)!
Nice shape language and design Curious to see what the legs will look like!
Posting on behalf of Coffee-120;
Started with the Arenanet env test; then the character.
Model & textures by Coffee; She handed me the models to then integrate in cryEngine.
And basically done with the highpoly. Finish some details and stuff but then to low-poly. Gloves were the last major thing to add, and now they just need detailing, and something to break the blank space on the back of the hand.
Here is a little something I am working on now. Just about finished with the high poly, and will be workin on the low and texturing it up tomorrow. Concept by Fightpunch.
Sorry to add to the flood of ArenaNet posts, but I could really use some advice/crits in my thread.
This page is so inspiring.. Keep up the great work, everyone!
PDC - I really like the entry its looking great my only comment would be spec on clothing feels a little too wet and plastic like.
JeremyRM - IT looks COOL!
I'm starting this in the long run...Gf request !
I plan to make this in UDK, with the environement which hopefuly will be a good portfolio piece.
I 123Dcatched some frames from the blu-ray and it went surprisely well. There was only one scene on the whole movie that gave satisfying result tho. I have some disney collectible sculpture shots for the other sides that never appear in the movie. So there will be a bit of guess work.
Been fighting with ZBrush all afternoon, didn't get what i wanted, but this will be a texture for my scene, its meant to be coral. Very WIP still (No spec, height)
More progress on the car, some areas still need some work, I can see a little pinching here and there but ive mostly been focusing on making sure all the interior lines line up.
Raven this series is so great man, your skills have expanded amazingly over the last couple of years!
fancyjames: spend a bit more time on the edges of those alpha cards, they have a very abrupt transition to the skin. he could also do with a bit more skin tone variation, try to bring out some more reds, purples and maybe even a little green/blue into the skin tones, they feel a bit monochrome at the moment. You have done a nice job on the sculpt, try and give the texture the same amount of love
Here is a speed painting I did for fun recently.
It all started by trying out a custom brush which resulted in the small sci-fi submarine
which then led to the obvious conclusion that a sci-fi submarine could not look thrilling
if not chased by a giant cute plesiosaurus.

also i was wondering... which maps do you bake from the sculpt? AO and green channel bent normal map?
Nothing much to add, just a sketch.
Here are some screens from the character stuff I did for Season 7 of Star Trek Online

Still working and looming on my contest, and a frend of mine suggested that i'd do some kind of haircut instead of the hood, so what do you think ?
Hood, definitely. Seems more in line with the ME aesthetic
