Made this book today. Textures not 100% yet but nearly there I guess. Just deciding if I should do something crazy with it.
Texture is probably 1024 here but will probably scale it down to 512 or less in the end. Supposed to be a small prop to my chair I made earlier. I think the book is around 170tris.
^ Looks good, maybe some irregular pages or book marks sticking out of is would be cool.
Maybe a little place holder text.
Thanks man! Already ahead of you with the irregular pages Had that in mind too... Wanted to do a bit of a variation of the book to show some diversity. And yeaah. Thinking about adding some text and a front page of the book with a name.
great work guys
jmiles: looks great only the joints of the arms dont look like they could hold such mass
tacit: awesome, reminds me of mike nash his mesh sculpts.
I`m in the process of rigging this one and just can`t resist sharing this :P

Whats the rig-setup like, I'm curious!
nothing special , its 2 bipeds with an extra bone for the belly with a springcontroller on it and the same for the boobs
on the beast its the same again for the hanging wood thingie
always a pleasure for the eyes here, I can not mention any names but nice work all, great source of motivation every days,

idk if you need it, but if the legs always stay with the head, get rid of them bones. bones cost drawcalls.
Here is a Speed model I just did. Took about 1h 30mins, based of someguys concept, but I changed it to a butler instead I made it because I want to try new texturing techniques, so updates shortly.

Perhaps I'll do some vertex color variations too.
Original concept for the first screen:
Layout in UDK:
Looks cool, but perhaps a bit less of the overall edge tear and grind. It looks like it's completely uniform on every edge. Otherwise nice!
