My first attempt at real-time hair with "hair cards." I went so overboard with the polys it's embarrassing, but he'll come in around 10k total so I'm ok with it.
OK, done, I swear ... I wanted to try and get a texture done for this. We're heading to France tomorrow and this is my way of saying that I can't freakin' wait!
Glad so many people found the gradients tut useful.
Hopefully this covers it.
Very cool! Thanks so much for the examples.
In addition, if you are using xNormal scale is sorta important. I got really bad results using Zbrush's default (crazy tiny) scale. I had to scale it up like 1000% within xNormal.
First time posting on a waywo thread, I am going to start a new level, it's kind of a ancient abandoned but no church thing (greatest description ever i know)
anyway, i decided to tackle learning zsculpt and zspheres, and messing with R4...
its not meant to be full btw, you only see part of it in the level
DemonPrincess - I really enjoy those minecraft textures, the colors are really appealing! :]
I'm trying to make a small dota 2 style character. It'll be a sort of Skaven apothecary that uses rats to poison enemies and maybe heal himself or friends. I'm still not 100% sure about the design but it'll probably look like this.
I'm about to start 3D so feedbacks/paintovers are very welcome! :]
That is beautiful! Really well done! Just a quick one for me, a Star Trek Battler Phaser. There were a few variations for the details on the side so I just took what I liked from each! Normals and AO with base colours.
havent posted forever, figured its high time i start busting some stuff out. seburo m5 from ghost in the shell, blocked out, working on refining and adding support edge loops for a high. any crits on proportions/edge flow/mesh is welcome. hoping to make this a portfolio piece.
I'm really digging this character but judging from the wireframe, you're gonna have a hell of a time animating him. There's just not the appropriate topology to bend and deform properly. Unless this guy has an incredibly limited range of motion or is a statue, I don't think your topology is going to be very useful.
Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself and show off what ive been working on for the past few weeks. Not as awsome as some of the stuff ive seen on this site, but I wanted to get some insight into what ive done so far since i am kind of stuck as to what to do next. seems like its mostly opinion at this point. anyways i hope you like what i produced.
Nice work everyone! I've been playing around with the BPR-renderer in zbrush and was surprised by how awesome it was. I don't quite like the result though , on some monitors the features on the face seem a bit washed out.
really nice work in P&p these days. good to see
Been trying hard to improve my cloth sculpting. it's probably the
most difficult thing to get right I think.
I used only the standard brush here (with smooth obviously)
Today I made a chicken for a project I'm working on. Crit me! tell me how to get better! (the wings, tail feathers and head piece are all alpha'ed in game)
MrNinjutsu: you are clearly very talented, and pretty fast aswell, every time i check back on polycount your always doing a new project I honestly think If you spent more time on 1 model rather than make 1 every few weeks you would grow even more. because its clear you can make whatever you want, you just need to raise the quality bar now. and to do that you need to spend more time on each project keep up the good work man.
Working on a new concept, Female Borg type character to add to my website. I have a few creatures and now a new Knight character, needed a couple of female characters there. I will be modeling over the next few weeks.

Starting my lowpoly and bakes next.

Loving the squid!
X post from my thread too http://www.polycount.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1656999
Otherwise, it really looks like that skimpy dress from lineage, me likey
I agree with scythe on the hair though!
Hopefully this covers it.
also made this....
Took about 8H and is rendered in UDK

man getting turned down after interviews is a harsh feeling indeed. You guys inspire me to carry on modelling in times like these

Thx!
am I allowed to see the poles :P ?
or maybe you could show your technique to map the texture onto the sphere ?

This is really awesome! Makes me want to just go explore.
Still blocking and unwrapping stuff for this environment!

That is just fantastic, Marchwarden. Makes you want to delve into the setting's story
Update on my Demon Character WIP
Seeing if I can learn how to incorporate some Photo-sourcing into my work.
VERY W.I.P! VERY sloppy.
...Should probably start posting these to the sketch thread instead of here... >.>
