I don´t think some of you guys read about, but the The Other Brothers game team started a quick comp (design a character and it´ll be in the game).
I´ve spend the whole day doing some pixelart for it, here´s the result. Sorry for the flood.
@massbot - pretty awesome man. love the fresh take. @scotthomer - looking pretty solid so far. Fits in with the bioshock world. @duncan - nice style man! maybe break up the folds on the shoulder by changing the size of some of them. currently they all have a pretty similar width/weight to them. @MrNinjutsu - nice piece man. The spec could use some work though. Everything reads pretty similar at this point. Try popping ou thte leather of the boots and the metals more.
So working on this in the mornings before work. Mostly skin work and some shader tweaking. Added a bit more pore detailing.
also, I'm having trouble applying multiple shaders to one subtool. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have my skin shader applied to the whole mesh, then go to paint in another shader for the lips with just M on...and it doesn't seem to take.
according to the concept they're just free floating but it's really begging for a buckle lol. thats a kool idea. also getting some tips to make the side flaps look like there floating, so they're not making her like shes pregnant
The diffuse map shown I hand drew on my drawing tablet. I'm pretty proud of how everything turned out seeing that i'm still in my first year of school. Let me know what you think. It was done with a limitation of 1000 tris for the Low Poly/Final Version.
That looks good Helba but its really really dark. Here's a brighter version that I ran through variations:
Hmm while I agree with you it's too dark, I'm pretty sure his intention with an "underground cave" was to look dark .. but your version looks like sunlight is blowing up the entire scene.
