lubbbly. Was going to post in your thread but saw you posted it here so ill just write it down here :P
the centre chest piece doesnt seem to be connected with the rest of the suit too well IMO...
anyways i love how youve put in realism in the character aswell. the speculars look pretty!
Doing an anime magical girl bearing these keywords, and it's for a Japanese art site contest (pixiv.net):
TEXAS, MAGICAL GIRL WARS, TEXAS LONGHORN
The ruling is: draw a magical girl that will represent your residence (like: Akiba, Japan ; Texas, America), including their magic wands or any magical weapon, alongside their magical familliars.
Now... I'm a bit straying away from my initial sketch, evading the big-anime-eye stigma.
Nothing fancy,a very simple and basic poop. relaxing in the middle of really boring archviz projects.
Textures need a lot of work but i'm lazy. Maya screengrabs with the wounderful xoliul shaders.
Going to be teaching a workshop at my old college in about a months time. Going to be going over the use of trim textures and modularity to create environments. Just creating the tiling textures I will be using to make the envio.
hey, looks very ineresting - did you plan to make an online tutorial ?
So yesterday I started sculting on a female head it's the first time i'm sculpting a female the goal with this project is to create a realistic portrait and to put this into my portfolio.
Some feedback before I begin with detailing would be great.
enjoy!
@Chimp - thanks man, appriciate it. @Nick Carver - that's some beautiful speedpaint. Great mood! @Donavonyoung - good start man.
spent the morning going back over yesterday's work.
I'm feeling better about the eyebrows now, although the color may need to be adjusted. Probably should wait until I get to her hair before I spend a bunch of time tweaking eyebrow color. I included a B&W version of today's work for fun. I think I like how the value's read right now.
Also redid the eyelashes...again. This time I did it in maya...old school style. Probably should add some more lashes to the bottom lid, and maybe a few more to the top.
Her eyebrows have no volume in it. The hair overlaps each other, giving it more thickness in the center then on the sides. also, eye brow hair is long. It looks like she took an electric shaver and trimmed off the longest hair so that they are all even. Feel your own eye brows and notice how the lengh changes from one side to the next.
Outside of that, looooove those eyes. The lashes really add to the femine of the character.

thanks man. I've been too close to what I'm working on to notice what I've missed. this should be a huge help
character a tad of skyrim stormcloak-ish. gave up on the texturing for now, so it's mostly just normals and AO..
doing an animation I've had stuck in my head for a couple of years now.. its mostly good-ish up until he stops, then its just blocked out for now.. gonna have him do some sword moves I guess and present it in realtime in unity with the set cameras and perhaps a free flight camera, having the animation looping
I can't remember where I saw it, I think it was here, but someone did a write up of a transition material for UDK so I decided to make one too. Surprisingly simple, and I got to dig a bit into Kismet and Matinee to trigger the effect. I made a small alteration where I combine the rock texture with the transition mask to make the glow effect match the texture closer.
thatanimator: whats with the shadows on the back of the character, they look very harsh too dark.
yeah thats just a shading bug in motionbuilder :P will probably not get that with the simple shaders in unity... I kinda like it though! hides the shitty textures
Thanks allot Splatt .It will be a 3 or 4 part tutorial thats going to get published .I am not 100% sure yet if the model and project files will be included .

Here's a speedpaint I had fun working on the past couple of evenings:

Crabman and/or lobster man? I'm not even sure:3
Gorgeous one Nick! Love the colours.
Wow, man. Awesome. Love the sunset settings.
Anyway, practicing my sculpting skill. Still kind of new at sculpting, so need some criticism and some tips, please.
Thanks in advance.
@ Massbot : hahah I dig it.
@ Graze : AEC!! REALLY nice work. Maybe the nostrils could be a bit darker but whatever he is cool as.
@ Chimp : hahaha awesome.
@ Ravenslayer : YOU WIN!
Been really busy with work so I have not done as much as I would have liked but I am still going.
Thanks again everyone. I will try to get more done over the weekend.

Managed to get the head down to 440 tris.
Models probably gonna end up around the 1000 tris mark.
Helba, I really like the music, it's your own ? Sounds like Monkey Island.
Shameless crossposting for me, I'm working on a necromancer for the Mixamo contest :
