Millenia: Really good job, having a hard time telling my brain it looked like that in 1.6
Specially the wood and highlights are better and the shell ejection part is almost full white on the original, yours have a better balance to it.
More progress on the Bioshock scene, shamelessly cross posting like a bawse!
Ive been baking some of the accessories out to test some techniques, (im going to have be super frugal with textures if I want to keep my scene within my budget!)
here is kind of a basic block out of where I am at.
If anyone has any shingle tutorials, or tips, I would love them. I don't think I will model the dragon, because I have no organic modelling experience, and really stink at sculpting.
You know what. I started messing around in zbrush trying to sculpt a tree. It went better than I thought, I have a bit more confidence in the program now, so hopefully I can maybe pump a dragon out.
Little update ,not much but I figured I'd throw it in with my response to SirCatalot
More Blockout.
A barrel. Flowers need a bunch of work, not very good at foliage.
Hopefully next time I update I will have a nice looking scene with more props.
Working on the new feet for my Man pigeon thing .... the .. Manpigeonasaurusrex making the feet look more prehistoric and getting them to a point where i can actually animate them.
Awesome work guys, I havent checked this thread in a while, need to do a bit of catch up.
from my m4 thread, getting through the textures, it's missing a gloss map at the moment and there are quite a few things that need to be touched up (also havent touched the lens, which will be super reflective later on)
SF-25 Helios, a space fighter inspired by the Halo:Reach Sabre, and partially based on a concept art for it:
SV98 prop for a friend's BF3 montage. Modeled it in about half an hour, as he didn't request quality, just wanted one quick, so I didn't really unwrap it either:
The is pretty cool! Not what I expected a Krogan to look like under all that armor, but it makes sense. I hope you take this all the way to textures and posing. Post it up if you do!
On a side note, I've always wanted to see a female Krogran. I imagine those ladies would be bigger and badder than the males!
p.s. I know there's way too much wrinkles, the model was initially supposed to be baked, and the wrinkles were attenuated on the baked version. So, next time, less wrinkles :poly136:
Me and some schoolmates are doing an art group over Facebook where we challenge each other by taking turns giving weekly challenges. This week's challenge was to model a traffic light entirely in 3DS Max. This is the first time using the program so the process was slow and painful, but well worth it. I feel I'm starting to grasp this program. Modeling through modifiers is powerful as hell.
Surprisingly enough I didn't follow the 3D Motive tutorial.

Some kind of small duck-bot.
Just a model to test rigging and animating on.

It didn't turn out quite as cool as I'd hoped but, hey, every project is a learning experience! Onwards and upwards...
