Thought i'd post this quick before I sleep. Based off a concept I did a little while back while I was trying to find something to contain my D3 excitement. Anyways might still touch it up a bit if I can find time but here's where I'm at, ended at about 4500 tris and a 1k diffuse, also an extra small sheet for the scarf I threw on afterwards:
Awesome work everyone!
It's been a while since the last time I checked the forum. I've been drawing a lot, studying more anatomy and stuff.
I did this drawing
And the last 5 days I've been back at sculpting. Ladies and gentlemen: The Batpod (almost 100% in zbrush)
We have quite a bit done on our level but we still have more to do, We have to get the level to 100 percent original assets, and we have a good 90 percent of that but we have to get more stuff added to it and make our bad guy attack the player.
Practicing some environmental art, will probably do the final render in the UDK once I have the textures done. Partially inspired by the Pillar of Autumn level from Halo:CE.
a bit of a wip on a project. I am trying to improve my polypainting. Right now just the face has been painted, the rest is solid color to see what colors work.
@Nizza -- I've always loved your work, and this guy is coming along great. I'm really sad though not to have seen a follow up to your space miner yet, I was really loving that guy, he has so much personality.
Still working on my photo journalist.
First, her camera is mostly finished. Both rendered in Marmoset.

@ dado - haha you are not hated i understand what you mean but no chance to break the magic here --- doesn´t matter if there is a timelaps or not - nonetheless it's always great to see how a great artist works
ysalex nice work! the camera is awesome...more please
nizza cool to see something new from you
I just wanted slab this on the table for discussion and to collect some feedback. Not sure how many here are familiar with bead sprites? Anyways, I think pixel graphics are awesome and I wanted to try something new, so I have developed a system for creating bead sprites for 3D Print. Basically one can order a set of pixels that can be used to make a certain sprite, or what ever else one can come up with using those pixels... here are some images:
Before you ask, no, Oso didn't help me.
There is Luigi too btw, but I have not printed him yet.
I know this is all a bit on the expensive side of things because of today's level of 3D printing technology... all that aside though please let me know what you think and if I should make more, or WHAT sprites you would like to see sets for.
That looks great 2cat. Are you using marmoset for the top image or what? The black outlines look nice and work really well with the hand painted textures. Are you using normal or spec maps at all?
BitGem: Pretty cool! I like the final result very much. It would be great and more difficult to see some more complex chars, like an Street Fighter char. If you want a real challenge, give us a Ryu, or a Chun li
Yes, they are rendered in Marmoset. I used the Pine Forest lighting preset.
As for the maps, its just a single diffuse map, no specular or normal maps.
Any critiques are appreciated as well. I'll take them like a man.

Thanks jramauri! Guess what, I already have Chun Li in the works but I am afraid she will be in affordable to print. Mario is around 35$ to print, Chun Li has like 10x more pixel!
Really love your hand painted stuff btw!
I got some more hand painted stuff in the works too. The next level up from this
Cross posting for help haha im a terrible texture artist so yea if any one could point out general things its missing it would be much appreciated thanks

(after a concept by Christian Fell)
Look closely at the wood beams in the concept art - there's more character and larger detail there. Can you work that into your piece?
Little critter im working on. Need more low poly -> app size models so im keeping a 550 tri cap and making a whole load of these.
