I just wanted slab this on the table for discussion and to collect some feedback. Not sure how many here are familiar with bead sprites? Anyways, I think pixel graphics are awesome and I wanted to try something new, so I have developed a system for creating bead sprites for 3D Print. Basically one can order a set of pixels that can be used to make a certain sprite, or what ever else one can come up with using those pixels... here are some images:
Before you ask, no, Oso didn't help me.
There is Luigi too btw, but I have not printed him yet.
I know this is all a bit on the expensive side of things because of today's level of 3D printing technology... all that aside though please let me know what you think and if I should make more, or WHAT sprites you would like to see sets for.
I hope you like!
I like it! Aside from the cost, the only drawback I see is that the color isn't waterproof on colored-sandstone prints. One spilled drink and it's ruined, unless you've found something that will seal/waterproof it. If so, please share!
Shading and lighting work in progress of arinterior vol. 13 from Evermotion (Nothing was modeled by me.) Really flat at the moment because of the three point lighting.
Thought i'd post this quick before I sleep. Based off a concept I did a little while back while I was trying to find something to contain my D3 excitement. Anyways might still touch it up a bit if I can find time but here's where I'm at, ended at about 4500 tris and a 1k diffuse, also an extra small sheet for the scarf I threw on afterwards:
hot dayum so fine! howd ya sneak this one by me O_O
Started working on an environment based on this picture by my friend Johan Friis:
And I've been experimenting with making a vertex blending shader in Unity, works pretty well but it still has some quirks, and I doubt it's very optimized.

Not really... except when you are done assembling it, put it behind glass . I hope the cost will go down soon and the materials and colors will improve!
In the meantime I tried uploading a Street Fighter 3 Chun Li sprite
But I suppose that will have to go back in the drawer for a while until technology catches up because it blew right past the hardware and software limitations and got rejected ... in any case, the price tag on that would have been astronomical.
Killer artworks guys!! keeping me inpsired all the time
So here a Temple model that I made quite time ago, just changing some stuff and adding another. This will be part of an underwater Environment project. The central piece of the enviro is the temple so I am putting a lot of detail to it. I need to add some cracked detailes though.
another update on the SB contest girl, apparently i have another month so i might try to render it in vray instead of zbrush and see how far i can take it

I can't even comprehend what they would look like without your signature shader/style. I think worlds might end.
Hey jackalope I really like your scene. Now if only DayZ could look like this.
