Online games will never launch smoothly. I don't know all the details but I've heard smarter people than me laugh at the average gamers idea of "just throw more servers at it" you know, from that big pile of servers they have in the back closet that are free and have no cost for bandwidth.

Theres no way to test-run millions of people connecting. Launches will always expose errors in code in either the game itself or its authorization servers. Unless you're COD in which case its the same game every year so they're used to it.
Yeah it's not as simple as just having enough servers and stress testing. Stuff breaks in a lot more different ways when you release it for the world to use.

Still cant get online stuck at the first race like everyone else. on a side note, is it me or do the online characters look really bad?
also the character creator although cool is not what i want when creating a unique character for a game like gta, wish it was more like saints rows creator
That is a pretty strange way to set it up. I guess they're trying to make it so that all the characters fit into the world and you don't wind up with anyone with a really weird looking face or something. Maybe?

This game is starting to annoy me. I dont understand why they make it so hard. I keep getting killed as Franklin by guys asking for papers, full armour full health, I die in seconds before I get a chance to kill barely one. The cops are even worse.
Combat is pointless. Its either a wack a mole behind cover, or if you cant get to cover or there is no cover your dead(your surrounded by bikers).
Dont worry, Gir. Give it a week or two and all the major douche bags will be matched up with all the other major douche bags. Can't wait for that! Love the good sport / bad sport thing.

I was a little sad I couldn't buy Ties and wear them as i see fit. Its all i need to make Michael look like Michael Douglas from Falling Down They're on the freakin wall in shops too! sad
I am also a bit disappointed your character has no voice. I understand that not giving the main character a voice is a way to make the player feel more like the character, but with a history of GTA games having voices for all the main characters (aside from 1&2), it feels off.

It's too bad that good guy playing doesn't allow you to be a law officer. It would be nice to be able to hop into a police interceptor when you needed one.

It has been registered but I am not interested in being its leader or whatever.

lol, sorry, that was probably me. Last night I finally got on and went on a killing rampage to celebrate.
The NPCs are 100x more unique than any character you can make for online.
