Played around with a clayrender of my hydralisk's front head.
If you guys want to see more SC fanart, feel free to drop by our StarCraft Civil War thread
Thanks in advance.
By the way, how can I take bigger screenshots in ZBrush?
Resize Document to the desired size, drop your model, and then save the document, if you have zbrush 3.5 or zbrush 4 you can AA crop your document so it gets AA effect.
Whens the hand in for it? At the moment i am not sure where the focal point is the robots look like they are looking for something/found something some indication of what they are doing would be nice!
Sorry for the late response, but thanks for the crit! I knew those robot guys reminded me of something...
This is due May 31, so we need to hurry up. There's no real focal point in the shot, and I need to work on set dressing, but the shot was just kind of taken at a whim after staying up all night working on everything hah. It was kind of hard to fit everything into a single shot while still maintaining a decent composition. Idk if that's a bad thing, but I'll work on it.
It's going to be a fly-through in the end too, I still need to work on the flow though. Nothing really happens in the scene, as in no gameplay or animation unless you count particles and animated materials. I do need to work on making the story come out better however. It's supposed to be a mad scientist's secret testing grounds for his race of cyborg plants... The cyborg plants aren't even in the shot... so yeah, that's a pretty early wip of the set dressing, haha.
Thank you all. I will make all of those changes suggested. As far as ordering for maximum impact : what piece do you guys feel is the best? Some one mentioned the last piece.
here is an update I have been working on of the last piece. What do you guys think? Thank you in advance.
Well, I got work now, but I don't know what I'm allowed to show. So far I've cut out robot sprites and done low poly chairs for a unity interior decoration thing xD EXCITEMENT.
also I am a terrible person... but at least it teaches me subdivision modelling, schhh!
after getting allowance I tried to doodle a bit around to turn this girl to 3D
hopefully I can work further on her in the next month. (have to finalise a project for an application)
Hey guys, I'm currently working on a 3d model of Carlos Huante's Pirate. There was only a profile provided so I took the liberty of using my 2D skills to create an ortho for easier modeling. Total time so far is 2 days...

your concept translated so well to 3d, great job! I'm diggin it.
Gingerookie, that's awesome! The shoes look a little funky from the front view, it seems like the soles aren't following the tilt of the rest of the shoe or something. Minor though.
Poffington that is looking sweet, nice textures. But that blue figure is human scale right? I think you should scale down the height of the railings and the kerb stones to match it, and the thickness of the lamp post base too.
Gingerookie: very cool! your concept at the top there? if so you have some pretty solid chops.
Striker: very cool works the shader on that demon bust is awesome too.
Finally have time to get back to the personal works after a several month crunch at work. Early concept sculpting of what is going to be a longish process, this guy will have several major changes before completion im sure. When i have more on this ill start a thread, basics...badass bug warrior.
This is a 3d rendition of a character in George Guo's illustration. If you haven't seen his work I highly recommend it. I love his sketches.
My original plan was to actually try to make the whole character and pose, but I decided to just keep it as a practice study model for now (okay, so I got lazy!).

I don't care what you think this is, this is a warrior class prawn. They mentioned how they had different ranks and stuff, and I'm just going to assume ignorantly that this is a warrior, and nothing you ever can say or do will change my mind
Haven't had a lot of time for this, but I finally got around to some baking and texturing. There are a ton of issues with the bake that will be cleaned up, so it's pretty raw right now. Also, the block in colors are pretty rough.
Been working on this concept for a day or so after an idea I got, well, a day ago.
Thank you so much Polycount for inspiring me to push concepts further and toss some more detail in there. Also BODY HAIR.
Eight - that metal is looking sweet! push some fabric details on him! virtuosic - nice details! I'd thicken the ankles a tiny bit Neox - awesome as always, did you start with zspheres? Kriscrash - beautiful painting! I love the colors.

Got an update of my Warp-Gate, some details are missing but most of the work is done
The current state of the textured LP (diff, spec, normal, glow) 4096Px, will be reduced to 2048Px later.

Is that what Evil Ken Dodd wields?......wait...someone needs to draw that up.
My original plan was to actually try to make the whole character and pose, but I decided to just keep it as a practice study model for now (okay, so I got lazy!).
Made in Zbrush with some simple polypainting.
Very W.I.P textures at the moment.
This is fabulous. Haikai is the one!
Getting there, playing with post pro :O
