hobodactyl: Cubase5, with a ton of sound libraries in Kontakt4. Namely Symphobia, Iron Guitars, and some random rock drum-loops I found (because I suck at percussion).
I decided to go back to something I was noodling with a while ago. I tweaked some proportions and pumped a little more detail in. I'm considering turning this guy into a full character, maybe something Brink-ish, but I haven't decided yet.
Maph - you need to change him to Lovejoy!!!!!!!!!! my dad used to force me to watch it every sunday with him when I was little, Ian Macshane is the man!!!!!!!! great progress so far,
Nizza - lovely feel already, looking forward to more
Daphz - looking great, I love the design, I think he needs a bit of silhouette pushing as hes quite round at the moment, some harsh transitions may help.
a Clemente Sauve Tribute that Ive been working on past 3 days between contracts, just got all the basic meshes in, left out the straps and little fiddly bits for now as I need to get things sculpted to a reasonable level so their placement isnt off. Real early wippage looking forward to getting stuck into the cloth stuff and proportions when I get some free time
cheers man, Im working from a concept from the late Clemente Sauve which I have been wanting to model for ages I might change it up a bit but I really like the original design. so see how it goes
Here is a few shots of a dude I was going to do for DomWar but decided to go a different direction. Probably just going to throw him on the "One day I might go back to finish off this art" pile but hay.
been working on this one on and off for a while and Im finally going to finish it. My goal is to begin baking and texturing sometime maybee next week ^^ just blocked out some colors my final version will not have the "standard" blue paintjob. thinking about maybe doing it dominion o UED. some feedback would be great
Duncan: Dude I love it. Can't wait to see him finished.
crazyfool: Awesome work on the Clement piece dude, there's actually a student at my school working on a 3d model of the same concept. I told him he's got some big shoes to fill and linked him to your blog to show him.
Instead of linking an image I've posted a thread up to show my work in progress of stuff for my portfolio. I'm less than a month away from graduation and it's terrifying so I'm trying to push some good stuff out: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84461
@ JFletcher - the curves on the legs look too straight. here is what i mean. hope it helps. btw will we ever see the day when you wont use brown shadows on everything

@ daphz
your girl is cool I expecially like the unsymetrical jaw and the eyes and of course the big head
may I have the allowance to bring her into the 3rd dimension?
Maph - you need to change him to Lovejoy!!!!!!!!!! my dad used to force me to watch it every sunday with him when I was little, Ian Macshane is the man!!!!!!!! great progress so far,
To be honest, I've never seen Lovejoy... So I'll stick with Al.
Your Clement Sauve looks gorgeous though, keep it going! But judging by the concept, I'd make him ever so slightly taller.
Duncan: Dude, that little guy is awesome! Is it based on a concept or just your own thang?
JFletcher: Looking good, but like MM said; add some more curvature in the legs. And here's a couple more pointers if you're interested:
- Perhaps widen up her thighs or slim down her calfs. They're a bit disproportionate in terms of mass. Although this could also be related to the very narrow knees.
- Her hands and wrists are quite large. Wrists are usually the most narrow part of the lower arm. Just scale them down a bit and you're good imho.
- Lower arms are generally the same length as the upper arms, yours are a tad on the short side
Solid painting work none the less man, so keep rocking!
MightyPea, those doodles make me smile. As does a lot of stuff in this thread
I've taken a break from the head wrap and threw some color at her face. Tried to go for the natural look before applying makeup (except the eyelinder), but it wound up looking that way anyway.
I can recognise some of her in it, but try smoothing out your forms more and bring out the jaw some more.
And yeah, chicks are crazy hard to sculpt!
yup
I hear ya on that. I'm learning some harsh lessons in subtlety with this project. I've obviously got a ways to go in that respect. Thanks for the feedback, dude

Awesome song!
a little earl-date thanks to a very usefull paintover from Mask:
Perhaps tone down or add more variation to the spec on that green piece though - it looks quite pristine in comparison to the rest
Are you telling me you never watched Deadwood? I call Blasphemy!
BlvdNights: awesome texturing work man!

benji: Yea I agree it needs a tad more, the piece is actually made out of plastic and has a high glossy finish on it, so something subtle for sure.

I haven't done much with this for a bit, but i figured since I did the head I may as well make it a full body ref:
Generic as hell by intention. Will fix some proportions and do the back too, maybe come up with a costume idea on top of it, then move onto a model.
Cerb Hallway Progress, Some material tweaks yet and a nice lighting pass is needed, but here is where I am so far.
COOLEST CHARACTER EVER
finish it jerkface
