Swiz: That's awesome, I feel you nailed the satin material on that pass, awesome stuff! And damask for sure !
My first foray into 3D again since.. May I started extremely horribly awfully simple just to get to grips with the practical parts of it. Everything can be better and I want it to be, so crits if you have them. Also, HERE'S A MESHBIN'D MESH for your online Unity 3D viewing pleasure

Tricount: 616
512x512 Tex
Max Viewgrab, Xoliul Shader
Now to not have another 8 month period of zero 3D
Here's a big tip, don't put logos in the middle of an edge.
Jeez, thanks you guys! I didn't realize the pattern on his coat would be such a huge hit.
I've updated the thread for the Guild Wars guy with a couple of new shots and more angles. Have a look.

I have colored spec and a gloss map. The spec and gloss affect the pattern on the coat, but there's no crazy shader magic going on. I do have a pretty complex lighting setup, but it's mostly just so I have rim highlights and stuff. All the shots I've been posting have been screens from Marmoset.
I thought I would give making a modular building a shot. This is the result. It excists out of 1024x1024 texture maps. I'm not too happy with the rooftop so I think I might redo it completely. There is also some reflection in some of the windows. I'm saying so because it's usually hard to see in a screenshot.
seriously solid work Nick! Especially love that thumbnail of the car jumping towards the boat
awesome bust sculpts haikai and prototyp3... and great character swizzle, the cloth pattern in the spec map was a genius touch
shameless crosspost from my wip thread... haven't given the WAYWO any love in a while. Sculpt is based off this badass sketch by Jeff Simpson... painting is acrylic, uh, paint.
Sigh...hate to post on the same page as Nick and Ferg
Only getting a chance to back to this now, no time for personal work these days... modelling finished I believe, onto baking. Does anyone know where I can find good reference for a bushnell holosight?
Really hard to find ref for it, I've got it mostly modelled but I want to nail the shape of the scope part so I need good refs, hardly any pics of this scope on the net that I can find.
I took some time and gave him a simple pose. I tried taking everyones advice and worked on the face to give it some life. I also tried working on the presentation a little bit as well.

This is a sculpt of one of the Azrael head variants from the Darksiders art book. Experimenting with poly painting in Zbrush.
Swizzle: Definitely the pattern, it helps add interest to those huge panels of fabric. The sculpting of folds in the scarf/sash are especially nice.
Uly: Thanks for the comment.
Got in another exercise today, a content turtle dude.

with zbrush's render settings and PS is fun.
fatty sculpt from a sphere
and a grenadelauncher i'm working on for the skysoldiers project
ravenslayer: the trigger assembly I see is in the stock, but how does the stock stay on, where are the mounting points?
love the colours and style, its hard to figure out a good approach to making stylised 2d into 3d

There's loads more work from it on my blog. Cheers!
Keep it up Stinger.
Finished my lucky orc!

There goes another portrait practice.

Did a bit more of this over the weekend, may just move on now, maybe actually model something for once.
looks cool sltrOlsson.
So many hours,
love is in the details,
a great piece mister!

Nice, OneLung. Face stands out much more now.
First real sculpting pass on this guy.
Did a bit more work on this piece. I will try to finish it by tomorrow.
GCMP: Thanks Those trims right below the windows have been giving me some problems. I will probably create bigger modules to avoid lighting seams.
trancerbot: Thanks. I added some cubemaps today; they still look a tad off but I will try to tweak them a little bit more.
sltrOlsson: I will create some breakdowns once it's finished
That was fun. Now what?
