Hey, I continued the anatomy study I was doing yesterday. A good day, I learned some new stuff, and became aware of some other parts I still need to understand better, lol. I want to continue a bit more to fix some issues and clean it a bit maybe.
could you imagine porting the whole thing to WebGL? Java is a massive slow-down for me It looks like a set of really cool features already though - Good work!
Actually joe inspired me to look into webgl and getting a model viewer working just to learn opengl (was previously trying to do this with python and didnt end up so well). Any who nice stuff Joe! Probably take me a while to get anything working
First time posting here for me ( have been watching for some months ), and I don"t need to create a real thread for now, so... I just submit a little concept I made for a fight game we ( 4 other guys and me ) make for school... I have other concepts to do before starting the sculpting of this character :
Anys crit is welcome and will be usefull for the next steps ^^.
hi all, been plodding along now for ages trying to complete my first ever character model, countless hours tweaking things here and there, ever changing things, but i think i can finally call this one done?
my aim is to make a low poly character, by first making a 'standard' base mesh body which can be used to make many different characters from.
current polycount is 3476
so, finally, i'm going to start turning this into a 'character'...
the head is modeled on this woman;
*i think the eyes & ears seem a little larger than life but i think i am happy with this as a slightly stylized character, or i will make them smaller if i want strict realism.
pretty bizarre stuff Ravenslayer, lookng cool.
hate to not praise anyone on this page , looking ace
onelunglewis - man i am dong something similar based on lee van cleef, not gong to poSt it now:)
daphz - looks great

Eh, why does it matter what programming language it uses? It's rendered using lightweight java game library, which uses opengl.
And besides, java virtual machine isn't what you'd call "slow" these days :P
A cb Radio i have been working on the last couple of days. Since it is an important part of a puzzle and the player will have it right in his face, it has a rather large polycount and large texture.
Still have to model the mic all the inside components
ive been doin some texturin myself. got a new one done today.
and some UDK material tests
Hmm, the edges feel a little bit too wobbly; I would probably use some planar brushes here and there to make it look more chipped.
Also, you might want to add another plane, apply some noise to it and make it act as grout (unless it's already there, I can't really tell). You might want to do the same with your previous texture to add some sand/dirt.
Awesome art on this pages.. Ravenslayer : great transition from your 3d sculpt to low poly, looking goo so far katzeimsack : love those zombies, and splash looks cool seven : cool concept ,looking forward to see him in 3d :poly142: onelunglewis : awesome sculpt i'll be watching your progress on this one . daphz : great progress mate, wasn't expecting that skin tone, but it looks cool anyways, keep it up
@The Flying Monk:Cool, I like that crossbow-like forms. @vavavoom: I'm watching your thread and pregress
Working on a character from some PSP game.(4902+604Tris)
now I'll go compressing textures and rigging.
And btw, just to make sure,,, does anyone mind if I post this kind of (animetic) model?

I would personally add some green and brown in there. For example the gaps between the bricks look like there is something missing. Asside from that I think they look awesome

you were both absolutely right. adding in a bit of variance in between the bricks helped a lot. i went back and did a resculpt on it.. chipping away at the edges and then softening it up a bit, overall i think it looks better than before.. thanks for pointing that out.
here's the updated version (and the old one. for comparison)
Yea jmiles... that is looking pretty awesome. So many Zspheres!
Here is something I am working on currently. I still have lots to do but I think its in a place where I can show it.
Based off this concept: http://cghub.com/images/view/154570/
Looking for some C&C while I am still in a place where I can do it!
I figured I'd post here because the WAYWO is the most active thread, but delete this comment if it's not approporate. Though, I HAVE been working on that thread
I don't really know where the concept is from really :P
I just remember seeing it one day and I looked it up just recently. Then I drooled at it for a bit and decided to give it a go.
Yeah there's three key frames screwed up at the start that cause the weird jerkiness. Only noticed it after the render ;') Fixed now but not enough time to re-render off the frames so.

Good point I will change that, thank you for your feedback!
Looks like Bill and the Scout morphed, then did steroids.
Working on a bot design.
FINISH IT! FINISH IT!
Take it to the end!! i hope i live to see that done
Where is the concept from? looks familiar, all that comes to mind is Mass effect and halo
