Kane3D - Thanks dude yeah on this particular area in the game there is things like loose wires, camera and turrets if I remember correctly so I will hopefully include similar things without making it too cluttered
Heres another small prop I am working on its based on a concept by Sixduck, I still have a lot left to bake but everything is modelled. Thought I would get it in Marmoset to get a feeling of what style I am going for. I am hoping to go for a Borderlands-esque style once I finally get everything baked
YES! Glad you like it! It's funny actually, you are the reason I am modeling this shuttle pod. Your work is a HUGE inspiration to me, I hope you post more of your works soon!
Edit; oh, updates will be posted here. @Artwarrior; that's beautiful! I like it!
Thanks, MadnessImport.) I didn't give it to her it yet. We don't celebrate christmas here, so have to wait till new years, Good thing she doesn't surf mah polycounts:)
my personal 2 cents but....whats with the fire grip....the texture looks a little wonky....i "think" it might be the lack of geo from what i see ...just meh 2 cents tho
@ richwderby Gun is looking good Whats the Tri count and texture size ?
@ ladyknowles
Your Ivy needs alot of color variation. See how in enslaved its not just red ? It's a mixture of yellow, orange and red tho I would also include some green. Ah ye and the door look very odd going outwards without a trim.
Cross posting from the 3D Motive thread ... finished up the new foliage tutorial and the results aren't bad! I learned a ton, I think I need a nap now...
Hello everybody,
Awesome topic you have here, been looking on it for a long time.
finally I join
working on mech model, want to do detailed one
shots from max viewport, realtime render in max 2012 became so cool
its based on my old scetch
papagersi: awesome character, I prefer version with shorter hair)
Millenia: great job with new texture for skyrim, I spend a lot of time walking with that weapon:)
crazyfool: cool character, he definatly has charisma
Futzing around with hand-painted skin. It's one of the areas I most need to improve in, so... yeah. I think his skin tones need a little more variation and they need to be slightly less saturated, but whatever. It's a test. Shots are from Marmoset.
Also, yes, that is a huge baking artifact in his ear. I did a sloppy bake just for shits and giggles.
@ ladyknowles
Thank you Well we are on the same wagon we're both students hehe. Try importing your house in UDK and make a simple shader for vertex paint using same ivy textures but one multiplied by a different color. Then you can paint on the ivy however you want.

You can improve that quie a bit with more irregularities and colour varation, a little more red around the nose and cheeks, slightly more blue/purple/darker tones around the eyes, a little blue/grey around the beard and hairline, little more red in the tips of the ears, i'm currently at my parents, if i rember i could do a quick overpaint once i'm back at the studio.
treasure chest concept I doodled on x-mas ...Im going to drop the skull to be in the middle point instead of resting above it. I'll make it in 3D later on in the next week or 2.
Hi all,
new user, been doing 3d some years, got interested about game stuff some months ago..
long story short, here's something I'm working on atm and planning to exercise with them more about game art workflow.
Comments & critics always welcome!

You're definitely right about all these. One of my problems is that I need to be a little more daring with the skin colors I choose. It seems like whenever I need to paint skin, I'm immediately afraid of going overboard and I end up pulling my punches.
Anyway, I'd absolutely love a paintover if you get the time.

Thanks Ruz, the zombies are paintover, they use the bust sculpts that are below them. The creature is 2d only.
Also, shouldn't the door be going inwards and not out?
There is red ivy all over enslaved:

First ZBrush model! Looks pretty boring compared to the work of you guys but its a start.
Also debating, with or with-out longsleeved shirt....
