skinning my "dragon".. super happy with the leg looks solid as shit.. the wings, not as much. especially the part of the wing that connects with the body, obviously it collapses as a mofo when I rotate the wings back...haven't planned to do that all that much in animation though, so the skinning that's there now is good-ish-enough-ish kinda esque..I guess
the model is from a monster hunter concept.. hence the blue color armor plates ;D and I toned it down!..its not a dragon that breathes fire and roars and is a big meanie in general..
thinking of doing a monster hunter style intro..no flight-loops or anyshit like that ;D
Do you have some reference for what culture this statue is coming from? It just feels so basic and primitive, especially for something so huge - it reads like an awkward zsphere base, poorly posed, and then moved immediately to the fine details.
I may be ignorant of the style you're going for here, but to me it doesn't read as giant, fantastic statue from a forgotten people - it reads as overly primitive and out of scale.
Thanks for taking the time to reply and offer criticsm. It's very welcome! Nope didnt have any reference and yes it's poorly done :P it was my first time using zspheres as i'm pretty knew to zbrush. I just wanted to whack on some detail just to see what it's like.
I've started a tree from zspheres so i can understand form better in organic shapes. I'll go onto humans/figures after too! Thanks for the feedback.
I created a low poly of this model too, brought it into UDK and there seemed to be a problem with the mesh. Some parts seemed broken and tidbits of geo missing. But in Unity it was fine?
WesleyTack: Mindblowing stuff. The work on your website is killer too. Makkon: Great work on the face, very expressive. Where are you studying?
Here's a WIP of the Comicon Challenge. NaziThor. Basic diffuse and normals.
surprised nobody has called you on this before now... but your jacket overlaps on opposite sides at the top and the bottom. i can't think of a jacket in the multiverse that would do that.

I don´t want to be nitpicky, but that´s a Wyvern :P

Gypceros~
Poisonous breath, smacks it's back horn against it's front like a flint lock rifle to produce a flash. Rubbery skin and extendable tail.
Played the games faaar too much haha ;D
Looks very good. The tail is a nice addition too since it used to end as a ball Good luck with the animation of this !
Edit wait a sec, is it some different sub version of the gypy?
fucking awesome! thanks
now I don't have to drag on about how it isn't a dragon, and just say that it's a wyvern! shit yeah!:poly121::thumbup:
Wyvern can breath fire, the main difference to a "real" dragon is that they only have 2 legs
If you take Monster Hunter as reference almost all dragons in there are Wyvern and can breath fire
But you are right, you can say that your wyvern doesn´t breath fire

Augh. I just realised that. You're the first person to catch that. It's wrong, not a stylistic choice. I'll fix it.
I'm working on character/creatures for a short film animated in Maya and rendered in UDK (think a fantasy version of the Samaritan demo... I hope!)
Here;s one of the nasties our hero has to contend with, The Ghast
Very much a Wip at the minute; this is a simple pose to give an idea of it's habits and movement. I've got it T-posed and rigged now, and that's the one I'll hyper-detail, then wait until I finally get all the parts for my monster gaming rig so I can actually render it at more than one frame a week!
====================
EDIT: OK, I'm fairly new here, so could anyone tell me why the IMG tag isn't working for me? Thanks
A piece for the portfolio. I have a thread for this around here somewhere lol. Still working on lighting and materials. Have some light-maps to clean up as well. Hoping to get some wires and flats together soon.

The lighting seems to be really flat so far. Those lights don't seem to be putting out much light. I understand it depends on the mood you want to set, but pushing the values can give tons of volume to a static scene.
My contribution, baked this down to 1500 triangles and took it into UDK and setup a simple material for it.
Done. Decided to go with the troll on the left. We read left to right, so some people I had critique it said they notice the troll faster if he's on the left.

Still got another day or two of work I wanna put into this.
how does it stay up?
no support bricks around the arch.
aside from that just love the colours and the feel of it.
Just fun? That's incredible! Post more like this! I'd love to know how you went about getting those clear, realistic results.
Here's some more classwork!
Trying to go for a hospital sterile feel for my sci-fi scene.
Makkon: Great work on the face, very expressive. Where are you studying?

I'm hardly an expert, but aren't arches self supporting? All the weight falls on the keystone and all that jazz?
The concept art doesn't have a keystone, its like a brick wall with a half circle punched out
Right now I don't have any of the arching red bricks, nor the gray keystone in the middle.

he's the god of thunder. multiverse laws don't apply on him. also, awesome image

It's nice bhuuuuuuuut... you have the right hand lamp texture on up-side-down.

So much awesome stuff on here :poly122:

Couldn't help thinking about the bridge troll from Dora the Explorer xD
On top of that it looks brilliant!
¿Hola Trololo, como estas?
Here ya go
Syndicate fanart WIP sculpt w/paintover.
here are some movie studies:
first one is hourish, second one was a long bastard - around 4 hours
Coool man!
Made this after Matthew Lyons' art. Wanna get it animated and make a little prototype game with it, too bad I'm no good animating
finally got around to unwrapping most of it, still working out whether to go with the open or closed wheel layout.
Absolutely amazing. You better get a job soon.
Did this today.
This is sweet dude! Walter White meets Gordon Freeman! Haha
I'm very curious, very nice work, can you show more stuffs ? :poly136:
