Someone must have used "setscale". Fun fact though. In Morrowind, the Redoran council hut in Ald'Rhun was said to be made from the hollowed out shell of giant mudcrabs.
Nope it is a proper dead giant in game crab. There is even a quest which involves it.
I cant remember exactly where but its a small shack on a mountain. An old guy gives you several quests to kill spirit wildlife to prove how heroic you are. The reward isnt very good though.

It's in the mountains south east of High Hrothgar, IIRC. Helpful, I know.

Need to explore that area a bit anyways.
Oh yeah, anyone else had issues with Empire encampments after the "peace talks" mission? Ever since then, every encampment I come across, they all call me "citizen" and attack me if I get too close.
This is your friendly reminder to back up your saves games!
System crap out or something?
I'm actually up over 500 saves with just my one character... I certainly hope the save files arent like the ones from Fallout... I ate up sooooooo much memory on my 360 cause of the number of savegames I had...

Nope, but a friend's hard drive died a horrible death and took 30 hours of his Skyrim character with it. Mildly terrifying!

Crafting arrows would seem to be a little redundant. I must have close to 1000 arrows of varying types in my inventory, just from picking them up from enemies.
@Ace-Angel, daedric arrows are rare, but, if you pick the pockets of someone who shoots his bow at a target, and take his arrows away, and replace them with daedric arrows, 2-4 is fine.
He will then fire unlimited arrows at the target, and all you have to do is pull the arrows out of the target. Find an area with many NPC's practicing, and give them all arrows, and soon you'll be swimming in them.
I don't think I'd have a problem with choosing the Empire's side if I at least came across notes or something hinting at them wanting to reinstate Thalos and kick the Thalmor's ass, wouldn't even have to be a real quest, just something hinting at them being tired of being the Thalmor's bitch...

Well...there's the fact that they only tolerate the Thalmor's presence at all because they needed to end an incredibly bloody war that'd been going on for years. The Thalmor kicked the empire straight out of the Imperial City for a time (it was later reclaimed). Talos was the founder of the empire, the original Septim. Pretty much everyone except the Thalmor, hate the Thalmor (except the Khajiit, I think they joined pretty willingly with the Aldmeri).
They only signed the treaty because the empire would've been obliterated otherwise, being unable to continue such battles. General Tullius and Ulfric both think the Thalmor are full of shit,
you can see hints at it at the "ceasefire" meeting in the MQ, when essentially nobody cares to hear Elenwen's (Thalmor ambassador) opinion. Ulfric has a little more direct hatred because he was at one point captured and tortured by the Thalmor (and I believe Elenwen directly).
Yeah, it's pretty obvious everyone hates their guts, and having been attacked (ha, wiped the floor with them) by their 'hit squads' a few times already, I have no problem with wiping them off the map. It'd be nice if there was an 'assassin's guild' mission that had you going around offing them. Arrogant bunch of bastards.
Oh yeah, it's kind of amusing being the 'good guy' so far in the game, and now doing the Theives Guild missions. I wonder how many leadership roles I can take over in the game with just one character, and not have everyone hate my guts. XD
Tulius doesn't like Thalmor either, he knew all along that he being used by Thalmor, but you know , he is a bit ass licker. accommodate whoever stronger than him
so choosing imperial is not that bad choice. either side has right and wrong.
.
this is the first time I play game that the side story has much more depth than the main story.
it does make a difference early on in game and you need money to buy houses :P
making money is easy.. level up your crafting and enchanting at the same time.. use petty soul gems that you pick up that arent really all that useful to enchant..
sell the items to black smiths and general traders
if you made lots of enchanted iron daggers and enchanted with magicka damage you'll find they sell for quite good prices..
later on you dont need money at all.. and I cant even be bothered to pick up stuff now..
Man, I have to complain about the texture maps in Skyrim since I'm playing around with them right now. Badly arranged, inconsistant arrrangements across male and female assets for no reason (even if the model is identical), lack of any mirroring (if this isn't a technical constraint then it's a sin how much texture space they've wasted), and no color specular. Puuuke. That and the normal maps are horribly compressed.
Gotta say, it was rather irritating that it took me this long to a) find a soul trap spell book (looted it, not bought, noone had one for sell) or b) find any soul trap weapons to disenchant... granted, now I've got a bucketload of filled soul gems, makes enchanting easy to do and level up.

i've found like 3-4 soul trap weapons in my run .. i've sold em all.. Now i want to enchant... this is horseshit
That looks like a nice run of the nVidia normal map filter over the diffuse texture...
Speaking of normal maps, I really want a nice high-def texture pack for Skyrim but for some reason they all insist on absolutely butchering the normal maps and adding 300 levels of bump to every one. So, I'm just going to give the diffuse textures a quick run through Crazybump and call it a day:

I want a normal res texture pack that doesn't suck. Most of the textures don't require high res and are more than enough, but they have terrible normal maps, or just aren't very well done. The current texture replacers out are ok, but most tend to blow a 512 texture up to 2048 just for shits and giggles even if it looks the same in game or overly noisy.
Actually I'm thinking I might try to make Frazetta-like textures. The world is so Frazetta already it needs the extra step. Strip your guy to hide armor, nude mod your companion, replace every bandit with trolls, and replace dragons with T-rexes and it's a done deal. :P
That vid makes me wonder... Why don't I have flaming arrows?
Ditto. Dipping your arrows in dwemer oil and lighting them with torches should be totally doable. Or, you could use the wall of flame spell to light your field of view and fire oiled arrows through it? That would be cool!
Ok, but it would be nice if the arrows exhibited the fact that they're enchanted with fire. Though it would be nice if you could make special arrow upgrades through alchemy/smithing for those that don't want to use magic. Flaming/exploding arrows, freezing/frost bloom arrows, shocking/storm arrows, etc. with appropriate effects.
For example. A flaming pot that you craft in alchemy (dwemer oil and fire salts) and attach to your arrow(s) in smithing (leather strips). You fire the arrow(s) at your target and it blows up with the desired effect like those flaming jars (i.e. wall of fire FX, fireball FX). Viola! Destruction magic through alchemy!
How about summoning? Daedra heart + fire/frost/void salts + dwemer oil and you get a "summon daedra" arrow!
Or Human heart + ecoplasm + dwemer oil for resurrecting corpses.

Also, I've got so many cause I always save before making decisions, or entering new areas.
Call me when it's over 9000.
Why can't you craft arrows?
and..
Can you craft soul gems out of the fragments, or are they just vendor fodder?

(my brother did this, and it worked perfectly)

what would you need money for? I couldnt find anything worth buying that was better than I could loot or craft.
