I think it was known, luckily for bethesda this will hardly make an impact at all, they've been frighteningly good at enforcing a spoiler-free internet until release, which at that date everyone will be buying the game.
I'm reinstalling Oblivion again later today, going to go through it these next few days. Going vanilla this time around, too, no mods - which I haven't done in several years. Will be neat to compare the two so directly once Skyrim is here later this week.

Why play vanilla Oblivion to compare it to Skyrim? Skyrim will be every bit as much modifiable as previous chapters and I'm certain there will be mods out there in short order after release with big bouncing boobs and god items

Because it'll be interesting to see the improvements vanilla to vanilla, as no doubt will skyrim be a pretty fine game out of the box.
And then again, I'm currently in vanilla morrowind with only morrowind graphics extender for the full reflection water and about 1.5x further viewdistance.
Part of me doesn't want to admit this but I don't actually own Morrowind. I've played it but don't own a copy. I'm really tempted to pick it up on Steam later just so I can go through them one all.

Heh, same here. Might be me, but the more I play Morrowind, the less mods I use. Frankly said, most of them are pretty bad and destroy consistency of the game. Nowadays, I stick only with face replacers, MGE and balance mods (but only if they don't deviate too much from vanilla). As a golden rule, I use them only if they feel like they were part of the original game. OOO for Ob is possibly the only exception. Even then, I wasn't too happy with the additional content and weapon models that felt out of place.
Maybe I have picked the wrong word with "leaked", and maybe its my lack in english but as far as I understand does "spoiler free" mean :"nothing about the story has been published".
What I meant was that someone (it is suspected that it was one of the journalists who got an x-box-version of the game) put the game on torrent for download.

I can't stand much of the art "improvement" mods, as they are mainly amateurish and really only increases the texel density, most often not in a unison way.
Morrowind I've always played unmodded, except for the above mentioned graphics extender, as I only use it for some very lovely water-shaders, content stays intact.
for oblivion I really wanted to use triple-O, but I really can't stand the new artwork in it, and wish that there was a clean version of it, without the new models and stuff.
Skyrim looks slightly better in the art-department, which means there will be a larger gap between the "improvement" mods and the vanilla content, but I'm looking forward to see all the gameplay additions people will think up after I've been through the vanilla game quite a bit.

Ah no I meant: since the game is up on torrent sites, people have been recording videos of the game, but bethesda has been quick to shut them down on public places, for the sake of people who wish the internet to stay free of spoilers until the game is out.
All I know is this. I'm opening the cage in the opening and I'm putting on the apprentice mage robes. I don't care if there's better armour. Robes all the way!
I haven't heard of anything apart from the one included in the collectors edition. There will be a 600-page strategy guide, but apart from that... nope. Maybe later?
Wish it was PS Move compatible on the PS3... I'm not being funny, but I did get the starter pack bundled with my PS3 and have hardly used it All those tech demos of smashing skeletons with maces and firing arrows made so many false promises
I've been joking around for the past year that this game is going to ruin whats left of my social life, but, now... i'm a bit concerned cause i think it might actually happen!:poly122:
Buying a physical copy to avoid that problem, then activating on Steam later.
Guys guys guys, Argonian of Khajiit? Or should I be a lame human lookin thing? If so, I'm naming my character Meat Shield.
Khajiit all the way brah. I mean, they can see in the dark AND they can put up a good fight with their mitts
Plus they're fast and sneaky and stuff
I have the physical copy of the PC version in my hands right now, I can smell the newness of it, I can feel the map. BUT I CAN'T PLAY, I HAVE TO WAIT. MY WORLD IS IN RUINS. BLAURHG.
Also that newest vid removed my fears that the Khajiit would sound retarded like they did in Oblivion, the more I see of Skyrim the better it looks

The Oblivion music makes me quiver with nostalgia but made the game feel too soft and fantasy and less grimy grit medieval.
I. Want. That. Beanie.
I am not going to buy this game I am not going to buy this game I am not going to buy this game I am not going to buy this game.
