You know it's not often I'll buy a game near its release for the full $50-60 starting retail price. Deus Ex I only got because it came with a $20 Target gift card. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood found a deal and got it for $30, same with Portal 2.
But for Skyrim, I'm going out at midnight and dropping $120 (for two PC copies - one for me, one for my wife), and I'm not going to regret it one damn bit!
Totally wish I could pre-load it on Steam without pre-ordering through Steam. I want my physical copies.
It got released here yesterday so I ran to the shop to buy it. Spend yesterday night and this morning with my game of the year . Its awesome and it has everything I would ever dream of having within an elderscrolls game.
^^
You bastard making life worse for the rest of us :P
I'm going to order it trough steam when I get money, hopefully today or tomorrow, just wondering did it take long for you guy's to preload it on steam?
And I am saving money ordering trough steam, would had cost me a few more euros to buy it in the shops here in norway, so it's a win win
That's soo ridiculous -.-
Why is England so far away from Germany? :P
Shipping that game will take approximately 3 days..
THAT MEANS 14-11-11!
CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER

Why did you order from the UK?
I was under the impression that the game registers with STEAM - and usually that means that you can just choose if you want the original or the localized version. At least that worked quite well with DXHR...
Neolith, ordering it from the Uk is muuuuch cheaper..
Thats why he did it, i believe.
Here (in Austria) DXHR costs around 50 (or once did, at least). If you buy it at amazon.co.uk you pay around 35, so you save enough money to make it worth the "trouble" !
edit: Oh, you are located in Germany, so you probably already knew that :poly136:
I ordered it from UK because the most games are cut in Germany and im not sure if Skyrim is, too.
When you activate a physical copy of your game from another country, somehow it isn't cut at all, like Space Marine.
Also, it is much cheaper
soooo, funny story. I got into the SW:TOR beta for this weekend..... and im giving it away to my friend because ive been waiting for this game for far too long! haha
Did sony release an SDK for the PSmove? Maybe someone could mod controls in for it...
Nope, but that wouldn't help either, you'd have to build the game around free weapon movement too, all you could do would be to do simple pre-recorded motions to do attack or block.
Nope, everything is hardlocked on your PS3, so any type of modding constitutes you in breaking something in terms of software, and that doesn't bode well for you warranty.
Simply put, console is a big no-no for modding. X360 is easier to mod, but with Kinect being relatively easy to run on a PC (I think MS is going to release stand-alone versions too for PC) there isn't much point in you risking a ban that might come from months of misunderstanding of warranty void.
The Wii is the easiest to Mod. Most of the stuff is done in a way that all you need is a SD card with a few DLL's for the appropriate bootup during a sequence of a game, and that's that. Hence why you have Samus in SMB running around in a bikini.
The easiest way to Mod anything on the PS3 without getting anything risked, is if you proxy run it through your PC. Some people where able to run both the Kinect and Move together through a Laptop acting as a hub, but that's honestly more time and effort then worth it.
Plus, you have to remember that package compression are very different for different consoles. I think the PS3 mainly uses a LZO compression system, while X360 is more akin to the PC, which uses standard buffered RLE compression based math.
I think It's wise to double the playtime this'll take me with checking out all the art in all the areas! Got a nice 5 day weekend to get a chunk into this, need to get as much done as possible before SWTOR!
Em I was talking about the PC version :P PSMove, on PC. I heard they were following Kinect and releasing an SDK for it.
Doesn't change the fact that you would need to rewrite the game to allow free-action attacks. All you'd be able to do is swing and block with the normal preset animations.
@Endzeit:
Im living in Germany, but Im usually ordering my games in Austria at uncutgames.at. It depends, but usually its not cheaper but you get your games latest when theyre released in the US( BF3 in my case). One of my friends got MW3 even before it was released in the US. Its not cheaper but its uncut and it gets delivered on time.

Oops, my bad, misread your post :poly136:
You can run the PSMove on the PC (not officially, since so far we have only speculations about Move on PC), but unless a framework for Move is available directly from Beth for the PS3, and they leave the base codes in there for someone to pick up and work on them on the PC version (kinda like what many dev's forget in UE games), chances are hard for it to work.
As Proph said, it most likely be limited to preset animation (then again, you could make your own) unless Beth made a Move/Kinect free-form capture system, in which case, it's all about plug-n-play with said tools.
I guess time will tell, but don't get your hopes up. People will be too busy making Tentacle-Bear mod, which chases you around at midnight, while popping your cherry mutiple times.

Don't know if I can trust in germanies "100% uncut" badges they slap on everything lately, especialy since it got a 16+ rating here, comparet to the 18+ ones everywhere else.
Neverless, I'm going to get it from a local store and I hope I won't regret it :S

Does any german here know of a site that tells wether games come out cut or not?
So far I consult http://www.onlinegamesdatenbank.de/ and http://www.schnittberichte.com/
But they are usualy not realy complete untill a few days after the game was released.
I wonder how the guide is written in terms of the random elements of the quests :P
"If you talk to Erandiel, he'll tell you that someone stole part of the cheese supply for his shop and he needs you to find the thief. Unless you killed him, then it'll be his wife. Or his son. And it might not be cheese. It might be some potions. Or some leather strips. It just kinda depends.
Once you've received the quest. Go to whichever the hell dungeon it tells you to go to. Go inside the dungeon, and find whichever item or items you were told to find. It will be somewhere. It might have something guarding it, but the enemies just kinda depend. When in doubt, use your force push dragon shout because it is awesome."
Staying up late today so i can go to bed early tomorrow and wake at 6am and get started
I am probably just not going to go to sleep Thursday night. It comes out at 9:00 PM here in California and I've been waking up at 3:00 PM like a dick so I will most certainly be able to play for a nice 16 or so hours.

Wait so Eastern time will actually get it at midnight? I heard somebody say it would come out 3am eastern time. I hope they are wrong.

I'm going based off of the Steam page which says it's released in 1 Day and 4 Hours from now (It's 5:10 right now for me). Maybe it's 1 Day, 4 Hours and 50 Minutes which would mean 10:00 Pacific Time but it's got to be either 9 or 10 Pacific Time based off of the Steam page.

I've always loved the Elder Scroll series, and watching the demo vids just blew me away.

Infinite quests you say?

TL;DR - Just get the PC version for modding.
Great job to the dev team + polycounters, rockin'

Without the guide I'd rather explore and experience the world by myself, rather than exploring it with the people who wrote guide.

I was just about to install Oblivion again just for a quick play around before I can start playing Skyrim, guess I'm not the only one.
+1
We bugged him about that almost every day on the IRC XD
