You should do a timelapse video one day. I know of lots of people who would love to see the magic happening in real-time
some textures. But yeah I will not make it in time because this is the last day I can work on it,, but I will probably finish this later, but good luck to you all!!!
so much great stuff.....(Bogdanbl4, it's just madness!congratz. HntrLuc love your design, waiting for some update :] )Arkhange, great ! and by the way thx for the feedbakc, here is a little update but there is still no spec map wet, with some photoshoping tweak target inside.
I am actually try to find a solution to have perfect polygon alpha addition, but it's still bugging right now with the Xoliulshader 1.5, I tried with a standard mat but, I'v got a damn outline...
Awesome work and awesome unwrap/texture, I was wondering how you go about doing your unwrap? If you just use max or use another program. I'm at that stage of texturing now and I'm having a hard time painting on my awful unwrap.
Changed it around a bit, did a render to test it rather than a viewport screenshot. I almost never do renders and am pretty much terrible at setting then up, it keeps coming out looking really blurry and gross.
bogdanbl: Redicuously win!...great wor the texture has a fantastic softness too it and you sheet is just beautifully packed...great stuff i would expect a very very high placeing with this one!
decided to make the other hand normal to increase asymmetry and free up polygons for the wiring and stuff. also made some shielding for the legs , they looked a little lacking. still got 70 tris left, propably save some of them for effects...
I'm still thinking should I paint my textures doublesize and then resize them to 1024, what do you guys think?
Boo Ya! Under 3K, now I need to squeeze a little more out of it for the waist wraps to cover the gap and a poly here and there to close off some of the light leak areas and I can FINALLY start texturing...
@firebat dude, love it man, thats the kind of style that im aspiring to man...
@fink great work dude, love the way you laid it all out...I was planning on laying it out in a similar fashion but couldnt think how to do it, nice man.
@homes44 He's coming along really nicely! Are you thinking maybe a bit of stretched bandage texture on those arm wraps, a contrast to the smooth armour?
ishii: That is looking really sweet so far Pang: Looking nice so far... good usage of Uv Arkhange: Gratz! It turned out really nicely seven: I like the intense colors... also a really good job on the folds in the cloth. Firebat: Awesome! homes44: I really like the form of the character. Keep up the good work Bogdanbl4: Hey dude! whats the secret? Some special coffie? Looking really amazing. HuntrLuc: Great work..really like the hair and the folds in the cloth.
viv: I dont know how u do it, but it looks really good.. cant even tell that it is a 3d model. JFletcher: I absolutely love that character and the texturing of course.
Great job everyone is doing.. keep up the good work! We are gonna win this!
Here is my work... just done texturing... might tweak some things. Need to build a pedestal.
grats to everyone that have finished and everything looks awsome
feel so noobiefied but ill post mine anyway
heres my wip still need to to much and running out of time =.=
So this is a pretty big update for me, Once again I wasn't happy with the look of the character, he seemed too bright with all that gold and feathers on him. I thought about what thiel_joe suggested about the grainy belt and the more I worked on the belt the more I realized it needed to match the character. It was too seperated from everything else. Then I saw the epic textures people were producing and decided to rework pretty much everything texture-wise. Here's what I have so far. (still have to finish legs and do touch ups.) Critiques welcome.
@Bogdanbl4- I am truly in awe at the efficiency of your textures and geometry, excellent work man. @Levus- Looks awesome. Can't wait to see what you do with the colors! @Onelunglewis- Digging the render man and thanks a ton for the marmoset rundown, I'm gonna need it soon @Ziggy- Love the painterly feel you have, love how much character the little guy has. @JFletcher- Inspiring work, great UV layout, colors and the oil leak cracks me up. @Nix- Amazing metal work, Can't wait to see it all.
wow ...this is probably the best thread I've seen out of all the forums out there. Congratz on everyone that particiapted in this event. I wish I could've have the time to join you guys as well, but I won't miss the main event for sure. Really liking all the works here~ Awesome job everyone!

Bogdanbl4: Just amazing!
Nix: I like the concept of this character. Color scheme seems to be a little boring. I hope you give him more colors. Beside that, metal looks great.
