I played the beta a lot, and i liked it. I had 2 copies preordered since a year... so i only will be paying 35 euro per copy
I must say that blizzard will have hard times with competitors games such as lineage eternal and other similar korean games. I hope their next gen mmo to be better than the upcoming mmo like Bless, or the actual Tera.
Gah the beta is so easy, making it extremely boring. My first and only playthrough i did with with a guy at work we were using no equipment except the starting weapon. still not a tense moment... just go forward click on the enemies that cant hurt you kinda...
Seems like they are taking a lot of stuff out so that it will be easier for consoles? Is it gonna release on consoles or is D3 PC only?
I already ordered the collectors edition, hopefully you can increase the difficulty a whole lot at the start of the game.
I ripped trhough the beta too. super easy. This makes me happy though
oh dear. Torchlight 2, The game I was hoping to play over the past year or so while waiting for D3 is going to be released a month after D3. Thats some crazy marketing plan...
I'm a fan of torchlight but I think releasing it that soon after d3 is just daft. I doubt i'll be buying it on release. I'll still be playing D3.
The concept explained in the presentation is the best i ever saw. It was the first time i heard someone say, that they tried to do a "painting" and not a tech demo. I think that's what more people should do.
The release day is my two year anniversary. Needless to say my wife has already told me I'll be waiting a day to play this if I know what's good for me.

That's a subtle hint she got you a new computer as a gift.
I think it may be more accurate to say it's a hint that she'll leave me if I spend our two year playing video games. That being said I cannot wait as I have the collectors edition pre-ordered. And no, there is no way in hell she'd buy me a new computer, not because she isn't nice but more so that she doesn't know enough about what I need for processing power.

Priorities man, diablo has been the better half of people since 96'!
Downloaded and ready to play. Can't wait for to give this a go, was watching some of their video releases last night and this whole thing looks so refined and well styled!
I just played it for an hour and a half and really enjoyed it! It was mostly just clicking on enemies so far since they drop health pots by the dozens, but it was fun nonetheless .
I just played it for the same amount of time too, except I wasn't enjoying it I find click/hold-to-move kinda uncomfortable after an hour or so.
I'm glad though, because I did pre-order this expecting myself to just throw away my life on it
Not really in the mood for this kind of gameplay anymore!
Is it heresy to say I didn't have that much fun? The art looks great, but the gameplay didn't grab me. Played around 1.5 hours as well and beat the beta.
Poop: I was very disappointed in the beta when I first played it. However, when I played with two other friends the fun factor drastically jumped up. One reason why I found the beta so boring solo is because it is horrendously easy. Thankfully they said that this is simply how they intended the beta and the actual game will be much more challenging.
Also, maybe you didn't enjoy the class you played. I would highly suggest playing with a few people, though, to make it more challenging.
The biggest problem for me is that visual tech in this game is rather weak characters in menu looks really bad. In game it works more or less since the art style is great and as a whole it doesn't look bad.
Played with 2 friends and it was fun. Solo rather boring...
Played the open beta last night, felt a huge sense of disappointment. This shit has been in development for almost 63 years and it feels like an iOS game. I'll reserve full judgement until I've played the final version and experienced the depth of it properly but it really is very average to me right now.
I mean, it's not bad, far from it, but this is Blizzard... The company who made Warcraft 3... The prople that make WoW... Which, stigma aside is arguably one of the best games ever. Heck they are the people who made Diablo 2! It just doesn't feel like a Blizzard game. Sure there is unachievable levels of hype for this game but even with that said, it falls way short of the mark in my opinion.
Heh yeah good call. I thought to myself after writing that; "actually, I wonder how many of the D2 team are working on D3".
If I had to guess ... maybe one? And as a producer? After twelve years of development hell I would be EXTREMELY surprised if a single dev was still original. TWELVE YEAR DEV CYCLE! Let that sink in.
So, I'm trying to play the beta in single-player. Alone. By myself. Just me.
And I can't.
I can't, because when I first tried to start the game, I was informed that due to lowered server caps, they didn't have capacity for me to log in to the game that I wanted to play all by myself. But keep trying! So I did, and I got in to play for about 60 seconds. And then I was booted from my single-player game. Because of a "temporary outage of the Battle.Net service." This is the online service that I am not using, do not wish to use, and do not need in any way in order to play the game alone, by myself, in single-player.
Yes, it's a beta, and I'm sure they're testing all kind of server whatnots. I get that. And for publishers, I am sure this sort of mandatory online DRM is a copyright owner's wet dream. But being denied access to a single-player game due to server capacity or being booted because the service goes down while I'm in the middle of a single-player game... Not cool, Blizzard. Fine if this is just a beta thing, but if this happens during opening weekend when I've got my college friends in town to play co-op, I'm going to lose my shit and set something on fire.

The open beta isnt a present to you, it's a test that you're agreeing to participate in. The servers going down is normal, in fact, its exactly what they need to happen. If they don't, they wont know how to fix the server cap and load issues you're complaining about. So, quit complaining and go help crash the servers!

For those interested the open beta for this has started for the weekend.
Only just started but it reminds me a lot of Diablo 2.

In case you haven't seen it already.
Cheers for posting this, I've been looking for a video for a while and this is even better!
I'm going to have to abstain from D3 until July unfortunately. I just can't afford to lose my life during exams.
great stuff! that presentation is really neat (also have a shot of tequila every time he uses the word "harken". I dare you ) seriously, watch it!

I was quite surprised given I was never a big fan of the others.

Torchlight 2 however...
Or not, those guys are making the torchlight series now
