quick thought just hit me...it has no ejection port for the shells.
Other side, man... same place it is on the original Shotgun.
Sorry To say this man but.........HURRY UP OR BUCK IS GONNA MAKE ORDERVES OUT OF YA!
Oh, believe me, I'm already feeling the pressure. I just gotta get through one more shift at work, then I can spend the rest of today and the weekend hammering away at this.
cruise control for cool there.
anyway, I like the colours but I'd really weather them down as to take away the garish look on them
Exactly, that's why I was kind of hesitant to show off the colors. I had planned to tone them down quite a bit, especially where the (forgive me, this may not be the correct term, but I'm not up to snuff on my gun terms) pump slide meets the barrel. Expect a lot of the color to be worn away.
Also, I think Cruise Control is only in effect when the entire message is in caps. :-)
For the wood stock/pump may I suggest Cuban Mahogany?
Very nice! The wood color I chose was a very quick choice, as I meant to play around with my options later, but mahogany might just be pimp enough to fit this gun. :-)
Heya Khthon... I've been trying out several different colors, but I'm having trouble making the mahogany work. It's just too red, in most cases. Thanks for the suggestion, anyway.
Ok, I've been puttering around with the colors a bit more, and I'm a little more happy with this palette. I realized that the main problem with the last palette was that there was simply too many different colors. Anyhow, expect the brighter colors to be dimmed as I continue to work on the textures.
I'd suggest adding more wear to the whole paint scheme, especially the stripes of the flag like the paint is chipping off or something. Though I do understand they aren't final colors, these are just suggestions

you know, after browsing through this and seeing how the hammer and sickle fists turned out, im glad you stuck with em dude. they turned out nice. i think you could push the texture a bit on the hammer, but moving on to make sure you finish the three items is a good call. keep it up man!

Thanks, man! I'm focusing on the texture work for the shotgun right now, but I plan to revisit the Batterin' Bolshevik's texture next. Hopefully I'll have time to improve it before I have to finalize everything.
Maybe have the green military paint very worn on the pump/handle, with either metal or wood showing through.
And I'd like to see more brush-strokes, looks too clean - I know it's not final, though.
Oh definitely... I'm hard at work on that right now. I'm getting close to finishing the diffuse layer, I'll post it soon. Then, I just have to do the spec, and the textures will be done.
I thought you'd have more brown, something matching the cigars maybe. The green pump and handle still don't look right to me, tbh. What about making the designs/plates on the pump and handle brown and the background still green or vice-versa?
I also think the fade of the flag should be more stark, it looks like someone faded it with a filter/brush in photoshop rather than being painted on.
OK, give me some time to split up some of my painting layers so I can play around with them a bit. This diffuse layer is taking much more time than I had bargained for.
Ok, after wrestling with over-complicated Photoshop layers (my fault) for far longer than necessary, I ended up only making a small change... and I think it looks pretty nifty. What do you think?
Whoops, just realized that I gave you guys a crappy, half-sized version of that render. Anyhow, let me know what you think of the color change... I'm going to start working on the specular map, in either case. Oh, and I was just finishing up my exports for the Comrade's Cranial Protector and decided to take some higher-quality renders...
i like the first one on the top. The team ones dont look pretty, and they arent Russian looking anyway. the first hat has the best color. If this gets in game I'd love it. although I might make a skin so it looks like Raikovs hat form metal gear.

I prefer the original color, too, but upon suggestion from other users, I'm submitting all 5 and letting Valve pick which one(s) they like the best.
Thanks! Although, I'm really looking for feedback on the shotgun colors... any opinion on them?
Hm, i don't like the colors of the flag with the green. Sorry Make it less brighter? Make some paint coming off with grey underneath?
The colors look too solid to me.

Well, I've already got little of that going on, but I can always rub off more. Thanks!
I still think the edge of the flag paintjob should be stark and obvious paint - like on the Medic's Blutsauger
Actually, I've been working on the paint effects, and they're starting to look pretty good, I think. Mixed with the effects of the spec layer, it's actually starting to come together pretty well. I should be done with the spec map soon, so I'll post a pic up then so that you can see what I mean.
I think I already said it, but I hope you do figure out a particle effect for the cigars after the contest and submit to the Contribute page as an update of the model.

Ooh... I know I've heard that SOMEWHERE.
If it can be done, it will be done. :-)

@MacD11 - DBZ Abridged BAM! Give me my internets
Exactly what I was going for, dude. :-)
DBZ Abridged, eh? I was thinking Anchorman, but I looked it up, and it was an entirely different mahogany-related quote.

Well, if the damage I've just finished doing to the flag doesn't make you like it, nothing will. :-)
More textures on the way.
I tried it before, but I just couldn't make it look good.
Nah, I want to steer away from having it look too much the original shotty.

No need to apologize... BTW, trying to find a place to fit in 'Hecho En Cuba'.
If you can suggest a better color, I'm all ears, but when I think of Cuba, I think 'green'.

that all being said, you have a great entry.

It would suck to die in the desert with the oasis in sight. :-|

Which smoothing issues? If you mean the ones on top of the hat, they're there on purpose.
It makes them easier to see from far away.
