I went in there and snooped around. It's a pretty nice room! You should start building a cave or something at the bottom of the big pit you put in there.
@ZacD : Sinkhole expanded, added a bridge but can't connect it, blocks disappear - feel free to smash it up or add to it - are there some places admin build only?
Was trying to make just a temporary one to make it easier to get to the sinkhole.
after playing some Megaman 8 bit deathmatch (http://cutstuff.net/blog/?page_id=1490), i want to make an eye gougingly bright NES clusterfuck texture pack.
I will probably not finish it, but hey, at least it's out there.
yeah its possible, you have to copy the world file from your server directory to the .minecrafr folder in appdata and rename it to world1-5 so cartograph sees it as a singleplayermapp, there are faster tools but they don't look as nice
I always crash after 10 seconds when I go to the PC server, not sure why, the error report isn't very explicit. That happen to anyone else?
Me too, weird crash after a few seconds
Anyone knows if the red stone stuff works on multiplayer? I'm having bugs with opening and closing doors, like it is not totally synced... Hope this gets added soon
set your viewing distance to anything but the furthest, that should stop the crashes. I toggle it back up every now and again to check where I'm going, which is fine.

With the latest version of Cartograph you can simplify this a bit. It supports custom world folders so you just point that field to the world folder and you're good to go. Probably shouldn't do this when the server is live though, not sure how Cartograph would handle that.
I think it was because someone built a giant penis with the number 88 next to it.
Seriously!...lol...Even though the PC forums are full of such things as cock tanks and the like.
Well if this is the case. I'm sorry for building a large cobble cock on the server. I promise not to do it again. Can I please be un banned. Pretty please with sugar on top.
Okay, I want to find my home again but have nooo idea where it is. Got lost and get the feeling that the map is bigger then I thought, couldn't see any civilisation anywhere. Started to build a castle at a highpoint and then started walking in the direction I thought the spawn was but got lost once again. Really BIG world.
just go east (where the sun rises) to go to nosnowland or follow the almost endless bridge to the north and you'll see it as well
Zac i have been there isn't it where some dude wrote penis in the sky?, pretty much to the left of you, there is a cool waterfall in one of those mountains to the right of you
Built a little shack on the ice near the fort (the one with the plane thing above it). Inside is a loooong shaft straight down, leads to a shit ton of obsidian. If someone has a diamond pick, feel free to mine the shit out of it.
Eric, would have helped IF I knew which direction it is in. Because I tried taking the route I think I normally take, north-west but just can't see it. Didn't have this problem before, found it easy enough previously.
This is completely rare for me, but every time I play Minecraft, I have a dream about it that night. Usually involves lots of blocks, stacking things and building stuff.
So far its been 1:1 with scary frequency. Play Minecraft, have minecraft elements in a dream.
If I had to guess, its the geometry of the game and the gameplay that effects me. 1. Simple cube shapes, chopping away and building up cubes. Maybe something about simple shapes has its effect on me.
2. Reductionist graphics, lets your brain work differently filling in details. Modern flashy graphics leave very little to the imagination.
3.The game play requires you to think and set your own goals. You must also keep a mental map of your world and all the things you've done in it, or you get kinda lost and you lose purpose.
Minecraft exercises the brain in no way most modern First person games do. That is my hypothesis as to my frequent dreams about it. Probably effects my subconscious in a good way.

Yeah. I've been getting a lot of this in the "drifting off" to sleep stage. Sometimes wakes me back up if I find a skeleton. Havent had a full blown dream yet though. I agree with your theory that the game allows for the imagination to fill in the gaps and this might be why the brain can recall it so quickly after playing. Generally (in my case) things I dream about are things i've been doing for some time.
My mother would know more about this as she's a lecturer of physchology and does alot of work conserning games. I'll ask her about it.
I mean, I know how to do it, and follow the instructions and dump them in the minecraft.jar archives (I tried both minecraft.net and www.minecraft.net folders in my temp directory) yet it still uses the same old default textures. Anyone know what's up? I would really like to give it a bash.

It says I'm banned.
Is this true? If so...why? and can I please be un-banned. Cheers
1059 uses iirc. Check the wiki for all that kind of info. It also tells you about how the durability is calculated.
It doesn't really matter in multi, because you can just toss it down and pick it up to regenerate it.
see ya on the pc server
I finished making a dark delicious crypt, behind the big arrow at the spawn point. That was fun!
Figured out how to activate the redstone dust too... place it, then right-click with a redstone torch. Not sure if it actually activates anything tho.

Made some compasses and put them in the spawn trunk on Zac's server.
Widening the deep sea trench and mining a rich seam of red rock.

That's what.

Replaced some of the Diamond axes/spades too
