Been feeling the drawing and sketching recently...
Inspired somewhat by the mages in Disgaea, cause who doesn't love adorable little ladies in ridiculous cute dresses out on the battlefield?!
JFletcher - Really nice painting!! But if you're looking for crits, than mine is that the cliff walls are all too simple and smooth--I think there would be more interest in the painting if there were more details/bumps in there.
EricV: I've detail stripped a number of Lugers personally, there are a lot of very specific kinds of shapes that make up the pistol and it looks like you've gotten the whole lot pretty damn well. Nice work.
That looks great Glode, very nice. Seems a bit washed out though, I've seen that ruin a lot of good pieces. Here's something I've been working on to practice normal mapping and texturing. I only have the base colour/specular right now. HiRes
Glode : Hope you dont mind a paint over. I like your scene. I felt the red is too heavy across the scene washing out all your fine work. Using color to suggest break up, I offer this suggestion. It was quick, but in light of the Stormwind comment, I saw the same similarity.

thanks for this once I get back from moderating my degree show I will do these changes
and yeah, on that note: I did base it on stormwind :P
holi i really like it but it looks like a bigger backside print.
Id scale it down and move it up a little.
Just imagine how this place right now will look on a fat metal nerd!
Disco Stu; haha yeah, can't wait to meet them
anyway, I should receive information about the size of the print soon, then we decide how big the pizza will be
meador_forest try putting your images in your Dropbox's Public folder. As it is nobody else can see your images unless they're logged into your account.
Made this head in Scultris last week. Still needs eyes. I really like how it let's you extrude geometry in comparison to the ZBrush way with endless smoothing. But maybe that's just my inexperience with ZBrush.
Casper - i love the door. very coorl stuff. ^_^ I really hope that you are planning on finishing it out (texture and stuff). can't wait to see it finished, if you are going that far with it. i think that some mixed metal textures, some scratches, and some rust would make that door so bad ass, it would scare all the kids away!
A mutated giant naked mole rat...(not a Fallout tribute )...I considered starting an own thread for it, but I postpone that until I sculpted it...also I have yet to make the inside of the mouth...and I messed up the knee topo...I'll redo that and beef up the thigh a bit...about 6500 tris currently (without SubD obviously)...
I did a few changes tonight, will do some more tomorrow when I get home. Will retexture the pavements and the main floor tomorrow night.
Looking good. You'll probably want to tone down the saturation on the street as well as lowering the intensity of the cobblestone and eliminating a lot of the black separations...The buildings work well. I like the lighting from the window as well...looking forward to seeing your next update.
Ding ding ding, I know I need to make things way more sporting with Harry around
I know, I know, positively pedestrian given the last few. But I've fired an M3 at a full-auto range and I have a lot of respect for the piece of plumbing that looks suspiciously like a gun. Building the M3A1 variant, which removed the charging handle and lengthened the ejection port. You chambered a round by sticking a finger into a groove on the bolt and manually cycling it. About as simple as you can get.
Believe it or not the Owen was my first choice--I was all set to model but I was just too disappointed by not being able to find enough decent reference. Especially for the sight picture--I know it's offset like the Bren, but I didn't feel comfortable confabulating so much of the gun's design. Once I can track down some more angles on it I'll probably do an Owen.
The Avenger is totally badass, you're right about that. I would characterize the M3 and other Sten-alikes as the simplest you can get safely, all these zipguns are awesome to look over.
i collected owen gun references a while back, and i have a model which is superficially accurate as far as i'm aware. No internals unfortunately, but i researched my ass off (and have seen a few irl)
I also have a full set of refs of the f1 which were taken for me by a museum which used to be attached to the factory which made them. Interested? ;D

Not really feeling this head, but here it is anyway.
