Working on Portfolio! First is from a photo refrence from a town ten mins from here. This may not make it in but I have to start and learn so I can have work that far surpasses what I "learned" in school.
Firebert and JasonLavoie : Fantastic looking work.
Here's a model i have remade about 5 times,i just can't seem to get enough of it
(It's my grandpa btw)
airage: those images aren't loading for me, I dunno if anyone else is having the same problem. I can only see the top but it looks sweet from what I can see. Please reupload!
One more for the GA mini-comp. Thanks to Dado for the paintover. I tried to get as many of the changes in during the few short hours I had as possible, but this is where I had to stop as I really couldn't re-uv and re-rig the mesh, not to mention any further changes would have to be done in 2 polys.
Been trying to sigh up here since yesterday. I'm really amazed at all the great work everyone is doing. This is my second try getting into 3D model/game art (I used "Anim8or" a few years before but now I have access to 3DSMax).
here some crappy stuff i did a week or two ago...
the only reference image i had at the time were in game "Torchlight" models. (i dont have internet at home for a while) I feel kinda foolish cause i didnt know that these guns don't really have wide open mouth ends like that >_>...that its mostly a cartoon thing...
I hope the image resizing is auto cause i dont know how
ah ten days in london, very relaxing, was nice meeting some polycount guys there, even if it was only for a very short amount of time, gave me the inspiration to go back to airborn
so here is a very quick blockout for the next airborn character Garrido, the grumpy lighthousekeeper
Finally have some free time continue learning 3d, I tought i'd start again with a relatively simple characeter and drew this concept, I'll do the sideview tomorrow and begin modelling... Btw how elaborate orthos do you guys do when you do models for yourself?
This page is full of cool stuff. I'll try to add some of mine (hopefully).
It's a lighting test I'm doing, to, well, get better at lighting. It's not realtime, but it is pure simple scanline with no light tracer or anything, just placing all lights by hand. I hope to gain a better understanding of light by doing this.
I'm very happy with the turnaround time on this character. I started modeling yesterday morning and finished up with renders this evening. Rendering is wonderful for hiding sloppy sculpting . Sculpted and textured in Mudbox, rendered in Modo.

well done man, well done. captured the pistol pretty faithfully. just a portfolio piece or what?
also impressed with the likeness here though i'm generally used to seeing this actor in his older and more jowel-y days
