Hey guys! My first official post here, hehe.. Great work everyone! I'm glad I've joined, and maybe I can contribute with something nice too
Vassago: I like the magnitude in the model, really feels huge! But the stretching in the middle section on the vents(?) takes some of that greatness away.. Or maybe its just not the vents best angle.. However, great work!
redmond_david: Nice potential! Keep it up
dn-revenge: Just keep modeling like crazy! And do study other people's work a lot! You'll soon notice how fast you're evolving
turpedo: I love that pillar! You've really nailed the cartoony diffuse.. But a couple of details could've been taken care of by a normal map..? But maybe you're not using any on your project, what do I know.. Great work
Time for one of my works I guess..
This is a zombie kid inspired from a concept by Björn Hurri.. It was for a school assignment so it was made in maybe 9-10 hours including the sculpting, retopologizing, texturing and so on.. Some things aren't too well done.. But I guess it's okay for the time limit.. Alpha was not allowed so i had to leave out the drool and fabric rips.. :P Hope you like it anyway!
The standard here just gets better and better. Well done everyone, you all deserve a big pat on the back.
Edit: I felt a bit inspired by all of your hard work so I thought I'd share what I'm working on at the moment. Its a new map for my UT3 mod Spectrum. This is really early, still got so much left to do, but hopefully it's somewhat recognisable...

i recognize the map!! DM-Deck from the Unreal serie!! :poly124: but you destroyed some of the fun of the game with just showing white lines.... the shader in the game engine is so amazing for realtime rendering
BTW, here is my work (not even near completion):
as you see, my model is a G36C... my second model im doing in my life :poly124:
A quick concept and first blockout of the character for a friends competition
Polylimit is 1.5k and i'm currently on 1.2. A there are some things to optimize though. Havn't removed anything beneath the hanging cloth. so probably a few polys there that i could save. i see now that i also need to beef up her arms a bit. aswell as her shoulders.
MattBradley: I do recognise it! Brings back great memories of being fragged over and over. I like what you are doing with it. Love to see where you take it
Thanks blenderhead, teaandcigarettes and firebert! Its so bloody hard to hand paint textures! But it sure as hell beast sculpting each feather in Zbrush *shudders*
Firebert: Snakes are AWESOME! So cute and sleek. You should forget this silly snake fear and try to find a place where you can hold a python. At least pat one, they feel so cool!
Turpedo! You post without showing any more shots! how dare you! *shakes fist!* I want to see more
duck, nice clothes!
Neox, WOW, cant wait to see that finished!
Vassago, that looks awesome man
turpedo, thats fuckin sick! I love the style.
sampson, lookin good dude!
Looking back at the simplicity of Masamune Shirows designs ... and becoming quite a fan of the rather dry 90s CG look of his renders! Hence im kinda testing it all out on a speedmodel now.
Not much to see, but potentially a base for later paintovers ...
Got a few minor crits though, the hands looks very flat, they could do with some beefing up on the back of the hand. Also, the top of the gaiters look a bit too open, not like they are tied tightly around the bottoms of the trousers.
the hands will be taken from the ingame version of the grandpa, so they are a bit more beefed up already, i just plugged something in to have something there
as for the gaiters, i'm not sure i kinda liked the flow they have, it was more straight first and i changed it while sculpting, but maybe you are right, should test that out
Thats great Pior, did you do a quick paintover the model, cause depending on where you look, sometimes it has that "3d" feel, and sometimes it looks like a concept, either way, mad respect mr pior.
Neox - I really respect your ability to breath life into these characters man, can't wait to see more updates on this guy.
Pior: Looking good! I really like the forms you've got going on in the central torso area - the head shape is very cool. Are you going to scan in your brush pen stuff, huh?

More rainbows from me!

Fully agreed. It really looks like something straight out of FF games. Reminds me of FFIX in particular. Great work Anux
turpedo: very neat job on those, I like the shaded look.
only deck16 was cool
turpedo: great lowpoly version, i think i remember the highpoly ^^
doing some revisions on a sculpt to get it ready for baking

Lol I'll have some more soon, I promise .
Ravenslayer: very cool! i bet that was a fun sculpt! Is there a body w/ him too?
Working on my sword
A character I am planning to do and a speed sculpt
handsandwich: looks pretty good, cant wait to see some textures on that sword
syaped: pretty hypnotizing is you keep staring at it . good job
Purely in 2D? or 3D models rendered into sprites?
Dude that is so cool! Yes tell us how you did it xD
Awesome, I really love the vibrant colors and your seemingly perfect brushwork. Great job!
cool thanks...will do!
freaky zombie...nice!

Neox, WOW, cant wait to see that finished!

Anuxinamoon: very nice as will, noe put it into any engine and let some SSS go through those feathers
ok worked a bit further throught the clothing, will start with his shirt now
Yes please do, these are awesome!
Neox: Cute character! Going to use him for something special?
eric: He looks really funny and very friendly ^^
Here's an instrument I made a couple of days ago.. any thoughts?
whats all this SSS newfangled whodiggy? I might just make a higher quality version compete with normal maps just for you!
and what do you mean "start on the shirt"? That shirt looks finished to me! Looks great. Such an awesome character!
you are a giant fucking coolboy
a sick dude of biblical proportion
yay \o/
whoops just updated the image as i didn't want to post it again and again and forgot to update the text as well

this was the one with initial text

ok i call the sculptingphase as pretty much over, here and there some small things to fix and clean up but basicly i think its done
Got a few minor crits though, the hands looks very flat, they could do with some beefing up on the back of the hand. Also, the top of the gaiters look a bit too open, not like they are tied tightly around the bottoms of the trousers.
Oh, and awesome render pior!

way wip. Got some more detail to punch in. Some proportions (Yeah it's a chunky beast) to play around with and then a quick zbrush-pass.
Based on the concept by this guy. http://www.guidokuip.blogspot.com/
