guess this is a speed sculpt, about 1 hour, from Sketchup 7, into 3D Coat and out as a 438 tri low-poly obj. I'm just practicing making assets for a personal game project, trying to figure out what works quickly for me, without too much time getting lost in details...since I do that a lot.
Good start, but not quite there yet. So here's a couple of pointers, use them if you want.
- First of all, I'd say to make your eyelids thicker! Eyelids are pretty thick, especially the top one, it's twice as fat as the lower eyelid in general.
The biggest eyelid in thickness and height should be the upper eyelid.
Just look at how fat the eyelids are!
- The caruncle is a tad weird, make it slope a bit more downward and make the bulgy bit smoother.
- Y u no have tearduct?
- The eye is not a sphere! It is in fact a sphere with an outward bulge where the cornea is. This feature is very present in the upper eyelid, as it needs to bulge where the cornea is located.
Along with his angsty teen counterpart, Captain Bieberhole, Inspired by the constant irritation of the snarky motherfucker sitting next to me and sculpted from the same mesh as above.
Thanks for the crits Daphz, yeah I need to get into the habit of using good reference. But neck's are a pain in the ass, how you sculpt from the base of a head while still retaining good topology? Oh, and your livestream link has two o's in .com.
Doodleguy I did earlier today.
Edit: Just watched your video Daphz, gotta remember zspheres :poly136:
^^After watching Black's vid^^ There's a lot I'd still do with it, but it's not called a speed model to fancy perfectionists :P
Thought I'd give this sculptris business another go. Didn't like the older alphas due to being very sluggish, but I'm loving this one!
About 2h in total I guess.

Quicky generic head. Couple of hours I guess.

It's step up from my work a few months ago, but still, eyes and ears yeck. Spent about 30 minutes on it. Aspiring to Daphz level ;D

@Em - here's everything you need to know about topology! -> http://wiki.polycount.com/FaceTopology
edit, one more
inspired by the cover of "goblin". kind of hate how it turned out, i'm stuck in a rut.
I'd appreciate any crits with tips.
@ Moosey G - I would pull the mouth and nose up a bit, as well as define the neck a bit more. and always use reference, if you aren't already/
alien thingy, I did it on a livestream, the replay is watchable here
