3 hours of back and forth tool exploring.
I feel that Zbrush is too big for me as is, and need to focus on the basics, before I attempt larger things such as "full human head".
Some practice, I'm in process of transition from mudbox to zbrush, it isn't easy.
The zbrush sculpting work flow is totally different, I'm trying to get nice defined shapes but a lot of it comes out as lumpy.
In mudbox I would use the standard brush and then the pinch tool to define shapes.
In zbrush the pinch tool seems to have a totally different way of effect.
I'm curious about some of your guys sculpting work flows, like to get nice solid but defined shapes what tools do you use the most?
Something along the lines of 'standard brush' 'flatten' 'accent with smaller brush' ?
If you turn up the brushmod on the standard brush it acts as a slight pinch brush. Try working things out with standard + smooth (and the angle at which you're using the smooth at)
rev! awesome you're on here now! real cool sculpt. : ) thanks for sharing the progress in a timelapse. start a sketchbook thread and post some more stuff!
Made this last night. Wasn't expecting anything decent to happen, just wanted to practice starting from a 'simplified skull' shape i saw in a clay sculpting lesson. It could use lots of polish but here you go.
jasp - nice gesture and stylisation in the last pieces
zoffty - really well done the hair is great, just the matcap is burning my eyes... at least it leaves a lasting impression

Thanks Neox. I'm really enjoying sculpting in 3DC when it's not crashing.
I also really respect your work. kid looks a little like Haley joel Osment.

A couple hours or so, from a sphere.
Sculpted this head last week but meh.
About 1h if I'm honest. Thought I'd try the technique from this tutorial.
