This is my first sample of work here on Polycount, also my "first" Mudbox experience (the other one will just disappear). I wanted to play with shapes based off of what Mudbox has included (none of this was modeled in Max/Maya). Consider this a doodle, nothing that's supposed to be polished.
Nice Neox! I like his shape except for the tail. I feel like it's too snake like. Whales/dolphins tend to have a lot of muscle/mass leading up to the actual flat part of the tail. It seems to me that without that muscle, he's not going to be able to flap it very well?
Great shape overall though. . . My car gets dirty enough with bird poop. . . I wouldn't want that thing to fly overhead, ever!
For the scale id make the eyes much smaller and make the tail much shorter. I love the idea, just trying to think of things that would make it feel as big as it is and still work.
had to take a big break from work due to family troubles. But I managed to come back in Zbrush yesterday afternoon to make a quick head for fun (4h or so).
Texture is pure polypaint and render is just Zbrush render composed in PS.
I thought the point of this thread was speed. A couple of hours doesn't seem like speed to me. It's obviously great work none the less, but I think the time needs to be cut in half with a few of these.
Hi guys im new here and i dont really have any experience in 3d modeling. i got a trial for Zbrush a couple months ago and while i was messing with the tools i got this thing
About 15-30 minutes of work
Justin: About 8.4mil. Thats the problem with sculpting from spheres
Renaud: Nice work on the old samurai. Was wondering if you could say what material your using for the light outline? I've seen that on a few of your pieces but don't seem to have anything like it in my material library.
Awesome sculpts guys! really impressive!
Just found my unfinished hulk action figure, maybe i should add details in zbrush, and use this in my new portfolio, what do you think ?:)

A thug smoking a cylinder: 524,800 polygons (from a sphere). Is that too high or too low for this amount of detail?
a bit further in progress
nice one

Another one, it's pretty weak though.

Hehe, some of us poor students are fortunate enough that our school has Zbrush licenses...
honestly, i just think the lips are a bit too wide.

The way I use it in Photoshop : small contrast curve > subtle gaussian blur (1.0 max) > "lighten" blending mode.
