that's a superb environment Johan, great lighting & textures. Really nice sculpt on that belly plate too Vitor
ruz, EQ, yerp! went out for a walk came back and looked at it again. aside from the man shoulders and big farmer hands I've narrowed the face to 2 directions;
Damn johan that shit is FRESH. Really nice believable asset placement.
I feel like you could get more bang from the scene if you increased the brightness 30 percent or so. Its a little dark, and as a result it looses some depth.
Vitor - Awesome amount of detail, dude. Keep it up!
Jackwhat - Great painting, man. I like it a lot!
Ferg - That looks great, lots of personality to it. I really need to get into sculpting and it is things like that which make me want to!
Been working on this for about 25-30 minutes. Not much but it was fun trying to make an all quad mesh. It really gets you to think of how to solve problems. I have some plans for him and will post more when I start his body.
TheSplash - I made like 4 pieces of concrete chunks that I've just thrown around, spinning them and turning them upside down to get some variations. I also made like a web of rebar that I spread out aswell and deformed and stuff. Oh, and also one alphaplane with some normalmapped chunks on. I got plans on making some dirty pieces of wood and maybe some pieces of a newspaper. Maybe a flaming barrel aswell. And grafitti!
konstruct - I'll give it a shot
hobodactyl - Thanks mate I was holding a WIP thread on our schools forums and could probably show you the stuff from the beginning if you're interested, and of course, post any new stuff I add to the environment
Don't stop! Most of us like seeing other peoples art, so keep showing it! Also, this thread is here to show what you are working on, and if you are working on something, there shouldn't be a problem with you posting it. Anyway, I enjoy seeing your projects, you have a nice style.
Jaco - Looks good, man. I like the gloves/hands a lot for some reason...
Wow, very nice, Vahl. I wanted to try out the whole Zsphere thing a while back but I was never able to. Do the Zspheres work well and without much hassle? I always wanted to know.
Marshal Banana: when the legs are crossing, the center of gravity should be at its highest. When they are apart, it should be at its lowest. Right now you have it reversed.
vahl nice sculpt, please tell us if you figure out any easy way of making hands with zspheres, cause Ive made characters many times with zspheres but hands and feet still seem impossible for zpheres to achieve.
That is looking awesome Enix, keep up the good work. You may want to make the skin a little darker and the gums a bit redder. The whole thing looks a bit de-saturated at the moment so pushing the colors I mentioned may help that. As far as realistic texturing goes, I can't really help you but it looks pretty realistic how it is.
EDIT
Also, you may want to add some stronger highlights on his gums, Enix, because in the pictures I saw, his gums were really shiny.

I'm not familiar with center of gravity. How would I fix this?
Hi everyone, I'm new to these boards (first post) got linked here by a friend and I've figured I'd contribute something.
For the UT3 mod, WarmGun. He's like a crazy preacher guy, one of those "god bless satan!" kind of dudes. Models by a fella on the team (don't know his name yet, lul) all the textures are done by myself and rendered in max.
While I'm at it:
Everything for this one is by me, which is a first for me, so go lightly. I'm not much of a modeler.
It's a pure form flood creature based on the Halo universe. Drops the big eggs down on people. I think the eggs came out looking a bit too much like giger zombie potatos though >_>
The creature itself is 5155 tris in total, the egg is 834 tris. I could go alot lower than that, but I really couldn't be buggered after uv mapping and texturing the things. Well, live and learn I guess.
Thanks polyhertz , I was doing pretty much like that, but still had trouble getting the fingers not overlapping...ah well saved your pic for my next try !
Havok : well the first times were a lot of trial and error, but once you understand how they work and what kind of geometry you need, it get easier, I just started (again, 2 days in Z only) but from what I understood, you really have to keep it as simple as possible.
taking a break from character modeling practice and doing some environment practice. Im doing that splash damage art test (dont plan on sending in just for fun)
Mtg_kirin - looks pretty good, dude. You could use a little bit of those 20,000 tris to round the corners of the windows and such.
Just a bit more work. I have used Arsh's baseman hands because despite multiple attempts, I cannot model hands. Any tips for hands? Any help is much appreciated. Also, I may start some of his gear as the hand issue is kind of frustrating me.

I think one thing that's throwing me off is the cleft chin you've given her. I see the cleft chin, and I immediately think of kirk douglas.

Vitor: That's some incredible detailing! The rhino dude should look bad-ass.
Kite: Looking forward to her outfit!
Jackwhat: I wish my artist blocks turned out stuff like that! You've got really great colors there.
Ferg: Nice forms!
Havok: Gas masks are always cool, are you planning on detailing it for high-poly?
Too much awesome going on Here's an update on my fat angry-man:
here's another one from this evening from the same basemesh
W.I.P. Battlestar Galactica (1978 edition) Viper MK-2

That looks like a final fantasy pirate to me! Very nice painting style.
@ Ferg
Very cool! I think it would look even better if the extreme putting the lip up would squezze the eyes close
Heres what im currently working on:
Vitor, that is sweet! the only thing that strikes me as odd is the skull in the center, just popping like that. I bet you already know it.
Ferg, those look awesome!
bot hand.
could be better in several areas.
I think I'm finished with this guy. My computer is stuggling on the current sub level and I can't really think of what else to add :P
Nice sculpts, guys.
Did some more on this today and I really like where it is going. What about you guys?
Still very much WIP

found a nice material on zbrushcentral, quick doodle with it
Crouch
Forward Dash
Backward Dash
Walk(something looks wrong with it)
Needs hip rotation during the walk cycle, that's whats making it look 'off' I think.
otherwise pretty decent stuff marshal, this has promise, keep going!

Lots of great work in this thread.
