Looks pretty good, not sure about the rocks piled on top of each other. People do that on hiking trips to show where they've been as rocks don't pile up like that in nature so it shows a human passed that way.
Cheers for the comments aimbiz, brody - i tried to take them onboard, redrew her on the stairs... failed horribly, went nuts with colours which ugh i dunno. I learnt a shit load so alls well that ends ok.

After I get these wrinkles and stuff finalized, I'll finish up the hair with some loose stuff, add a few more little details kind of like the bag and start on the low-poly version.
Theres something about the face that really looks mannish to me. In fact I've assumed its been a man throuhg your WIP shots. Only now that I've seen the hat and the bun of the hair do I realize its an old lady. I dunno how to fix it. Maybe some big eyelashes?
I was going to say pretty much the same things as aesir, I thought from the wips it was a wizened old man, not a witch. If its female I think I would look into bringing the back of the jaw inward and make the chin more pointed instead of wide and flat, possibly thin the bridge of the nose a bit too.
Aesir, Carbon, you're both right. I've been struggling with making her look more feminine. She's certainly better than she was before, though I'm still going to have another crack at the things you mentioned.

While the lack of luck on the freelance job hunt lasts, I got myself on the new 3dtotal's competition to get some new portfolio piece done. It's easier to finish stuff when there is some goal and a deadline.
Still undecided about the feet. Rhinos has the gayest feet ever.

Looking good, I agree its alot easier to get things done when you have a deadline and a goal. During the Fall in classes I can get a few characters and some environments modeled , light and textured pretty quickly but during the summer, everything I do takes so much longer when I have now deadline.

Dude man, I dug this thing so much it inspired me to make my own hah. Took a sick day today cause I didn't feel well. Gonna make the ceiling mount and move on to the low poly/texture. I hope it comes out as good as yours!

Started a new one for dummeh, a scavenger alien based on hobodactyl's rad concept. Still well under budget (114 tris), and need to mess with the proportions some so they fit better with the rest of the characters.
