haiddasalami (I just now realized what your name says as I tried to type it) here in Ottawa, the 'pro' photo place charges about $6 for colour and $6.50 for black and white film. B&W film is super easy to develop at home though. I started doing it in my bathroom and the only tricky bit it getting it totally dark while putting the film on the reel and for that I just wait till night time and turn off all the light in my apt. Then I just scan the negatives after that. Developing prints in my bathroom would not work so well.

[edit] those prices are for next day 35mm. same day was about $1 more and 120 film was about $1 more as well.
haha. Yeah someone told me Henry's does it so probably gonna give a call to them. Yeah I think I can do it in my basement washroom as there aren't any windows just a little crammed in :P Thanks for the costs.
I was extremely lucky to be om one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen even on tv
Of course I tried to get all the shots that the main photographer was not able to. I will start with this one: Those are two of the grandmothers and the groom's mother + the prettiest ever bride

You might want to get a changing bag (black bag with holes for your hands) and a film picker, those things solved my darkroom problems
I looked for a changing bag but no place around here carried them anymore, night time developing has worked ok so far though. That film picker is interesting... didn't know they even existed, so far I'm only shooting 120 film though and it's just on a spool not in a canister so I haven't had that issue yet.
A little Magpie fell out of its nest, unable to reach the nest, I placed him in this box and tried building him a little cardboard fortress in the raingutter of our garage (so the cats wont get him).

We had a crazy storm here and me and a friend of mine wanted to shoot under the rain for a long time, so this was the perfect opportunity. My camera was dripping wet and I was so scared for a moment but everything seems to be working fine now.
Spent a lot of time on that image and I am not happy with it at all but this is what I have so far any way:
Thanks Paul. Coming from you that means a lot This is the original file I think I only darken the sky as of yet. Really wanted to have this image with color but it was not working for me.
needed to make the sky more dramatic because mine was blown out- could not see anything because everything was so wet.
I busted up the contrast to extreme and added some smoke to the water down to the right.
Made the face brighter as I wanted to punch up the contours of it a bit more so I can separate it from the rest . I did the same with the leg under her face because i feel it is a strong diagonal and it helps the composition. Also a quick run with the brush all over the contours of her body so it can read a bit better and give it a bit more dramatic look-- and I made a mess of it
Added few different textures and masked a lot of them off as I left them more visible only at the sky.
Still was not working for me so I just made it black and white at that time.
I think that is about it... hope I did not bore you with all the rambling
edit : Thank you for using the word "daguerreotype" - I did not know what that means and I had to go to google to find out. You are actually very right about that - the plug in I am using for the black and white conversion has this option to mimic this way of developing and it uses tint of yellow for the paper and silver/ bluish color for the ink so I guess that and the combination of the scratchy textures gives it that feeling Thanks again
Thanks a lot Mezz I finally got some positive feedback for that last image in one of the photography forums I am posting my stuff on. It is on the first page now- photo of the day- I am supper happy about it!!! http://35photo.ru/ - this is the site

@xvampire - that photo was taken with a Rolleiflex Automat 6x6 - Model K4A using Kodak Ektar 100 film.
