Nice prints poop, the landscape one is wonderful. I would love to get a canvas print someday.
Glad you guys like the ghost stuff, its tons of fun. Here is an article on how it is done in a slightly different style. They also have their own app for doing it now.
@disanski - If you become a vimeo member then when you view the video in the lower right hand corner across from the comments section there is a download link to save it as an mp4. I cant wait to see your results.
And just so this is not a bunch of text, here is a picture of a goose.
I might have to crash that CCS party, obviously everybody loves you haha. You really should consider being an instructor and replace one of these fake ones we have floating around now.
Detroit isn't that dangerous unless you are somewhere stupid and off the beaten path. That being said I have never had any issues and used to hang out in Detroit all the time.
I really don't know almost anything about photography. I try to read up what I find online, but I don't know any of the big names from the past. Thanks for mentioning Garry Winogrand and Robert Frank- I honestly never heard of them, but I will look them up I would love to hear from you or from anybody else, who else is your hero ( in terms of photography)? I recently purchased one of Ansel Adams books and another one with the some of the best portraits of National Geographic, can't wait for them to arrive It does not have to be portraitists.
My favorite photographers, to name a couple, are Henri Cartier-Bresson, Garry Winogrand, Bruce Gilden, Robert Frank, Andreas Feininger, W. Eugene Smith, Diane Arbus. I also love the work of Edward Burtynsky; Peter Bialobrzeski's and Thomas Birke's cityscapes were a big inspiration to me when I was doing my long exposure shots of Seattle. Not sure if you heard of this story but read about Vivian Maier, quite an amazing story of how her work was discovered.
Another street shot, taken with the Rolleiflex, over the weekend.
Thank you for taking time to share some of your favorite photographers
I guess Vivian Maier discovery happened recently because I saw and read the story for her. Really an amazing story. I am definitely getting the book when it is out. Such a fantastic photographer and she kept it all in secret.
Will check the rest of the names from your post now and thanks again.
I will be taking a step back from photography because it is taking way too much from my time and now it is not the best time for this, and in future I might try to shoot something else than portraits
Love that last image
Edit: I was just thinking about Vivian Maier and I don't think I approve, that they are going to expose all of her work- kind of feels wrong - she did not want to show it to anybody. It is kind of personal.
I just got my D3100 (first DSLR ever, whooo) and I used the last bit of daylight that I had last night to take some shots around a local abandoned Norfolk & Western rail depot. Here's my favorite shot (18-55 kit lens for now):
I was also very impressed with the video function:
I posted this over in the graduation thread, but I really like it so I'll share it here as well. I graduated college over the weekend and took this shot on campus that day:

And this one is 80x180cm (two files stitched)
