This is maybe 4 hours real work from a super simple basemesh made via Silo. I'm trying to trim my time down and bring my quality up as much as possible on these heads.
Did this in about 20-30 minutes to test out the head portion of a general purpose base mesh I'm working on. Ear turned out to not be dense enough, but other then that I think it worked out fine.
I also did some test sculpts on the hand and body (not the feet yet), but this threads for heads only so i'll refrain from posting those
My first go at sculpting It's a little over the 1hr time limit I think (about 20mins at lunchtime then maybe an hour messing when I got home... wasn't counting too hard).
john, things i keep in mind are silhouette, soft vs hard shapes , round vs straight lines and bringing out as much character with as little detail possible
Having a lot of trouble navigating in mudbox. I have to switch from tablet to mouse to move the camera.. is this normal? Most apps treat my tablet pen touching the surface as a mouse click, and the clicker on the pen as the right mouse button, but it doesn't work like that with mudbox.
with mudbox you hold alt on the keyboard and click and drag to move the camera. You might want to spend a bit more time in mudbox getting used to it before you post heads here.
I've got that bit, its just not detecting my tablet click as a mouse click so I have to keep physically swapping between the mouse and the tablet! Its aggravating. Perhaps its just my tablet settings.
Dom, that's a really well stylised Wolverine there. Would be interesting to see an entire character like that.
Below an hour, I think, but I lost about 10 minutes of work when ZBrush crashed while masking. Did it while latest ep of House ran in the background. Arshbust and Rapp matcap (contrast adjusted). Tried not to overdo the features this time. No pores and such, just overall shape.

Been trying to keep these daily while I get used to the tools. Oldest first.
Might need to refresh the page to have the images load, my webhost's being a bit akward and not loading images first time round.
