It has been a heck of a task balancing my role as a husband and new dad with getting this thing completed. I know my family will be happy to have me back 100%.
VERY wip shot of my terran tank - suggestions please! I know it's not particularly "blizzard style" but I'm ok with that. still to come: vents, rust, worn edges, caked mud, hazard stripes (??), shadows/self-shadows, normal and spec maps! one more day people!!
Bah! I guess now whenever someone makes something that has a face in the shoulder and a face in the chest it's going to be compared to Rockstar's General...

Hmmm, I mispelled "god" in that file name, ohwell. I had been working for 18 hours good enough excuse I suppose.
Although I will have his one eye glowing (he sorta lost the side of his face from the hellfires, but he enchanted himself up a new eye (that's right I have a someone detailed backstory for this necromancer))
close to finished! still some texturing touch ups i need to do and a tweek here and there, but i am pretty close. this was just a test for the pose and simple presentation. also altered the art contest logo a bit to better fit the piece.
Damn nice, arsh! It'd be cool to see him in a more foreboding pose. Right now he looks like michael jackson after he tossed his hat across the room in Smooth Criminal.
A camera angle looking up at him would be pretty awesome, and show the guy's scale.
Man, I wish everyone here could win. So many great entries. I don't doubt that at least one of you guys will get first place.
arsh a much better pose would be that of hunched over just after he turned a corner pose. Like he stalking down hallways in serch of the player. Make sure to have the camera be lower to give the feeling of his height.
Rite now the way you have him posed and the camera set up he looks more human than demon.
Okay time to catch some sleep guys, one more full day of work is ahead!
I have most of the armor bits ready in a 'texture kit', I now have to cut them out and shape the plates around the character. Also small things like finishing the sword and the slaughtered cow head...
i spent about 15-20 minutes trying to submit then when it did go through it only took 30seconds to a minute to get the emails. ( i had my email open while trying to submit.)
holy hell arsh! thats awesome! but i do think you should, maybe, change the pose and/or camera angle. And after reading "slum"'s post, i agree, it does look like michael jackson... so u should definately change that, lol...

Well it finally went through. There was never a confirmation page...only an email (in which the word "received" was mispelled). So if you get that...then you should be okay.

Hey folks, thought I'd just post my final image that got submitted. I really wish I had more time on this project though. I had alot more assets and gear half done that I would have loved to include. Going to have to finish in my spare time I guess I'm just glad that hydralisk and Diablo are in different categories
This sucks, have you guys had problems submitting your work? I've been trying for over an hour now...I missed the dead-line because of it, it'll be a bummer if they don't still except submitions because their servers couldnt handle the bandwith...

Its a bit patchy but overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Noritsune: Final presentation turned out really nice! I like the lighting.
I like the pose, it gives a form of grace (and implied intelligence) to a fearsome looking creature, which I think makes it look more sinister.
