Hey spacey it's funny that you mention that... I used pics of Kurt Russel and Tom Selleck as references but it's no doubt that Rambo was the real source of inspiration for BigBoss in Snake Eater.
Proof!
Dizzy, yeah that technique works well for that one kind of specific greasy hair - but I am looking for a different style here, more loose hence not sculptable. I think It will give too much of a figurine look on Snake.
Decided to add some more accessories. Will have to test that!

Don't forget Sean Connery. He was the original reference for the older Big Boss shown in the original Metal Gear games, and several of his features show up a bit in the mgs3 version.
What you've got so far is incredibly awesome and inspirational, though.
I used to be a regular round these parts. Been a long time. I have recently decided to get back into art and so forth. Just in my spare time. I do not have much to inspire in my life, apart from my lovely woman. So I paint her...
Arco: That first one looks really nice. Judging by the style, Alphonse Mucha might be a nice source of inspiration for you, especially his more commercial stuff.
Slaught you sexy bastard!
Yeah I'd also like to see some over the top anime spiked hair, could be a cool siluet
I'd ask you to model his arms in more of the t-pose fashion for us animators, but then it'd kinda mess up the sweet pose you've got going which in turn would kinda suck for you and everyone who wants to texture the future sdk (because there will be one, right!...right!)
Just did the gun. I think that's the boringest thing I ever did in 3d. HA! I guess it had to be done somehow. Next time I'll better search for readymade downloadable gun props. I bet it exsists somewhere?
Arco: You might be getting tired of this one, but the black lines don't really do it for me
That, and the colours of the leaves just make it seem even dirtier. I like the face though, the rendering on there's quite lovely.
edit: i thought i should mention it's not the fact that they're black, it's just that i don't think they work well with the rest. And that's coming from a big muchastyle/jugendstil/Art Nouveau-fan, so it's not that i don't appreciate the style itself.
I have never been able to finish a painting to my satifaction. With the portrait up above I got pretty close, but I always get bored and just rush certain aspects. Oh well.
Been working on this picture of prime for what seems like forever. This is scaled down a lot (the full size of the picture weighs in at about 55 megs)... thing is I don't know whether to carry on or try and redo the rendering in a more phto real way(at the moment it is pretty simple). What do you guys think?

Bah! Bangbang!
Playing around with some more anatomy using arsh's base mesh. Might tighten some bits up a little more, but it's time to move onto something more constructive. Is there anything looking terribly off that I should be aware of?
Awesome work latelly around here. Was doing this for a 3d modeling contest here in Porto city, wasn't able to finish it due to lack of time. I had more than 3 months, but with all exams and so just started it 2 weeks before deadline
Yo guys, Not sur eif this is in bad taste since I was part of the rival team...but, since finals won't really be shown for a few weeks, I wanted to post this here.

I'm working on a new layout for my pixel website. This is going to be part of it.
It's 24 colors + transparency.

@Sectaurs
I haven´t really thought about it while modeling, but i guess it looks okay.
here is an update to my character which i'm making to learn max:
crits are most welcome! (proportions are pretty tough on this guy for some reason...)

Not that I know of, but you could make it easier for the next guy and release your model under a free license.
FGA (see sig) would gladly host it too
