i adjusted the proportions of the shoulders and neck:
i ran into my first small problem with max. Whenever i'm rotating my view (just with alt-middle mouse button) my objects turn into bounding boxes. I've checked the properties dialogue and tried all kinds of things but it didn't work. I think i accedently hit some kind of shortcutkey and now i don't know how to set it back.

mightypea: i can see the brush strokes but at my pc i think it is just fine, you can see the reddish/brownish color and the greenish stuff too very well. nice painting by the way!

This one seems WAY too dark on this machine, whereas on my computer it was a bright red vs blue.
