Hi! I wanted to share my progress on working with realtime hair so far. Hair has always been something I was never confident in, so I wanted to dive into the study of creating hairstyles. I wanted to try hair like dreadlocks and complex hairstyles with lots of clumsy curls. It's been quite a journey to learn about it and figure out how to work efficiently with haircards. To kick things off strong the new year i decided to reproduce the amazing design created by Wouter Kroon Raza Technologies: Project Alpha in 3D, his work is amazing and i loved using it as reference! i used 3DsMax for the modelling of the Low Poly and part of the High Poly (Zbrush for the remaining others),Substance Painter for the texturing, Marmoset for the Backing and Final Rendering. This was one of the more fun projects I can remember in recent memory. Fell in love with the drawings that Dela Longfish made, and felt like an opportunity to try something different and also allowed for alot of creative freedom in the final product. Hope you enjoy!

Finished this art test late 2020 for thatgamecompany in Unreal. Got me onto the interviews.
I feel really good about this. Really pushed me to scramble and cobble together tech art solutions to get this all into one nice diorama.
And yes, those birds are ALL flapping at the same time. I didn't notice cuz I am terrible at QA.
