Hi everyone! This is my first time posting. I've always admired the work I've seen here so I figured I'd post my newest piece. Looking forward to becoming a part of this community.
Hi ShawnH nice first post! the metal on that polarm blade could use more definition, pump up its metalness value and down the diffuse and that should help.
Hello folks. It has been a long time since I walked the halls of Polycount. I wanted to share an update that I recently made to a tutorial video that came out over a year ago. I added a couple of extra grass making techniques, less ramblings about life and being in debt. All done while on cold medication and red bull energy drink.... joy...
Finished this low poly colt Magnum. any crits are welcome.
Nice work. However it looks like you haven't transfered your dirt/grime over to your other textures. On the highlights the metal looks almost brand new.
My god, every time I come in here is an explosion of awesome stuff. Super inspirational, yall!
While you guys have been cranking out rad stuff, i've been a lazy piece of poo and haven't done jack in forever :poly127:
So I thought I'd do a Valentine's Day sculpt to warm up before trying/failing at all the newfangled Zbrush 4r7 tools.
It's all pretty standard, but I made a timelapse. In retrospect I shoulda probably tried something more hardsurfacey to have a more direct comparison of the tools... Hopefully it's entertaining anyway!

Designing this spaceship (codename USR "Destroyer) as well as modeling/texturing (procedural mats) for Fractured Space. Based on style established by Mike Hill of Karakter and Dan Lodge of Edge Case/inmind. Turret designs by Tim Zanconato of Edge Case. Shoutout to lead artist Alex Clarke for giving me help with the design.
I have an addiction to Zbrush at the moment. I started sculpting a marvel heroine today (cookies to whoever can guess who it is even when she's bald) and this is as far as I got before my wrist gave out. Can't wait to work more on it tomorrow!!
Working on some assets for my handpainted interior environment! I worked on a modular kitchen counter set this weekend, but it was my first time doing anything modular and I got frustrated with getting the lightmaps to line up.
I'm going to come back to that particular puzzle. Threw together this WIP rug this evening because it was relaxing/easy, and paired it with the chair I already made. (Definitely planning on rounding out the edges, and maybe putting in some alpha mapped tassels)

Hopefully this helps show what I mean:

I love your sculpt timelapses, great stuff!
At the weekend tested my new desktop workstation with this vampire sculpt.
It will be something like a dying / burning vampire bust.
