jarsef, thank you! GeeGeeMac, nice job on the textures! MadGunslinger, he came out great! VanLogan, looking good, can't wait to see him done! Juju, thank you and no problem! great job on the unicorn cyclopes guy! Tony Green, your girl is coming out nicely, love the hair!
working on jenesis' sculpt, re-worked her face from previous version and now building out base subtools from extracting masks from the anatomy, deleting the inner shell, and zremeshing for a cleaner base.
this will probably be a PBR project

karynatrychyk: I dig those tiles.
Mathew O: Lovely aging on that.
Back to messing around with this project after taking a break to work on some other stuff. Still need to make more textures, futz around with the lighting, props, etc. Need moar hours in the day.
I'm roughly new at modeling and one of the things I've striven to do is to get better. However, after two years in high school I haven't improved at all! This was one of my most recent projects. Besides the awful texturing, what could I do to improve on my modeling?

Tonights sculpt, stepped away from my typical style for this one to change things up a bit. The sculpt taken 4 hours from a cylinder and then an additional 15 minutes for Photoshop passes.
tried to render with vray as suggested last time but sadly maya was not happy.
Salem Gamorrah, wow, This is a very nice sculpt, especially for your first try! I like the folds of the eyes and the skin details on the chin. I think it would be good if you flatten the border of the shirt and define the shape of the collar a bit more. Then it will look even more realistic.
But great job so far. I´m looking forward to the next update.
garriola83, your Star Lord turns out very well! Love all the tiny details on the clothes!

This model was based on a physical compass that I own.

I've learned a lot so far and I'm very proud of it. For a newbie, I think I'm doing ok.
I had real trouble with the fiber mesh, but I got very near to what I wanted, so it's time to move to coloring, and then technical stuff.
tried to render with vray as suggested last time but sadly maya was not happy.
