Finished up the low-poly for this guy and got started on baking textures. I'm about half-way through baking. I threw it into Marmoset just to see what it could look like.
Still slowly working on my scene from November's noob challenge. My first proper UDK scene where 95% of the textures I made myself (everything except for the moss). It's acting as a prototype for Uni, testing out hand-made textures and bettering my technical skills.
Next step is to work on the cave walls; unique texture, and made to blend with the floor better.
Welcoming any and all feedback as have been staring at the scene for so long, and still relatively new to UDK. My sketchbook with the progress is HERE.
Very nice. I like the form and taking out that extra shirt was a good idea for simplifying him a bit. The clothing folds are nice, a bit stylized though, not sure if that's what you're going for. Imitating some scan data might help the realism a bit, there are some good ones at ten24.
thank you, ysalex. yea i was kinda trying to do the folds in similar way of the last of us. i am using scan data as reference, but very little of it. again, thanks -- means a lot. i'll try and fix the folds. thanks.
I just uploaded my game SnoVV to kongregate. It is a minimalistic "runner" or snowboarding game. The goal is to collect gems, buy upgrades, and achieve the highest score you can. Here is the link:
I used Blender for the 3D models, not that there is that many of them, unfortunatly... And Unity 3D to put it together, it took me about 2 weeks or so, maybe less, to put it all together. I hope you like it
Any feedback, both good or bad, is highly appreciated :poly136:
@Optinium thank you! That means a lot, glad you like it so far. Those hand painted textures are looking great by the way, keep up the great work!
Great work everyone, every day this thread grows with some inspiring work.
I've managed some Foliage work today on this today, I've never really done much foliage before so I'm trying out some ideas (I need to add in some base to the grass so its believable as to where its growing):
Hello every dude~After lots of times try learnning Zbrush,Finally I create this model from my bad concept, that's really really my first time try flow my ideal, and, try my best already. Please crab and......I will texture it in the future,Thanks you all~

Looks like allot of you started the new year with posting cool stuff. Love the updates you made scotthomer!
Here's something i've been working on for a while to practise texturing and normal baking. Landed at around 6k5 triangles. The plan is to make a few more assets and put them all together in a workshop scene.
Feedback and suggestions are always welcome ofcourse
Working on a female survivor-type character based off of TLOU (just played through it a third time..). This was also the first time I ever tried my hand at sculpting a female character, so I worked on the entire body, despite whether or not it would be in the final mesh.
For example, the bra itself won't be in the final model, but it helps when I add more layers over the top!
Ha I friggin love those mole animations AndrewHelenek
Yay nice sketches SirCalalot, I actually spent xmas replaying MM hehe.
Looking friggin damn sweet Afisher :poly142:
Yay rendering old shit in marmo makes it look all shiny and new! xD well it's still pretty bad, I need to get something new in that lovely toolbag asap!

switched back to the scoop landing gears, there is now a GIF of the progress so far to
I'm not really happy with the result, but there's another sculpt I made this evenning:
Did a simple head study today.
Going to use it for PBR texture practice.
HP
This weekend I polished up an older asset using physically based shaders in Marmoset.
And I captured some breakdown shots to be added to my portfolio:
A comparison between the highpoly and the lowpoly (Vray vs Marmoset)
Texture flats and basemesh:
You guys are incredible. Awesome pieces.
I also did a smaller asset for practicing pbr in marmoset: Materials are blocked in and tomorow I'll do the textures.
With that Face mask, it reminds me so much of this guy.

Thanks! I use Zbrush Default BPR and Composition made from Photoshop.
Loving the damage on the edges I can tell you from personal experience that's what a go pro looks like when its dropped outside its case lol
