TiTs: Like your materials are SO nice, what tips and tricks could you share on how to achieve it? maybe a look at your flat textures/ even some settings used in marmoset. Pretty much anything you are willing to share about that :DD
Are you using any POM/displacement mapping for the fibers? Also, what kind of performance are you getting with it (i.e high or low frame rate)?
Yeah, I am using just one POM and it has almost no impact on the performance even though I am using the Editor on "Very High" spec level. I normally get around 30 FPS within the level and this one is the same. Here. The upper right hand corner the bottom yellow line shows the FPS:
Making a helmet for Chivalry (and also the game I'm making). I've actually spent 5 years making armour irl too, so it's pretty fun improving my 3d and game-asset making skills, combining two of my favorite hobbies at the same time.
A little bit of an update to the modular building set I am working on for the Unreal Marketplace. I will probably go back and create some more interestingly shaped buildings when I am done.
Made this a while back, still doing some tweaks on him amid a ton of other projects. Figured the Avengers 2 trailer made this more relevant so I rendered him in keyshot!

Also, that ultron is super kawaii.
On my stuff, I made rainbow.
It looks weird to me to put rain on a sunny day, but the conditions where rainbows emerge are usually a bit weird. I suppose the weirdness increases as it is done in 3D, and by a n00bish artist. I guess technically the rain would not have to be visible in shot. Either way, I am playing around and getting to know my new pal Cryengine, he is pretty swell.
I would am happy to take thoughts or critique or anything at all over at my thread.
Cheers. Have a good one.
Haven't dropped in for ages! Gonna get more frequent with personal stuff now I'm settled at work. I love looking at this thread.
Marie - Love all the variants you got out of them, great work
danitchu - Wow, thanks for posting the breakdown, amazing painting skills!
eric0562 - I really like this scene, reminds me of some of the environments in Amnesia machine for pigs.
specsowl - This is cute, looks like he could be a Nendoroid figure.
Finally managed to finish this character off, learned a load about texturing in Quixel, its a really impressive bit of kit and really sped up the process.
Based on this concept, I ended up tweaking some bits of the design in the end, sorry Al.
Crit appreciated, looking forward to moving onto the next project!

This is ace I read the title as "Kawaii-tron" at first :poly142:
The second picture looks really awesome. It really seems like it's glowing from the inside, however, I'm not entirely sure about the yellow lines, they indicate extreme heath, like lava, even though the big red patches resemble "bbq coals" which aren't that hot as lava.
