Hello everyone,
Fairly new to modelling but thought it would be inspiring to join in here.
I went to uni to do computer arts over 10 years ago (!) but dropped out due to the course being quite poor back then, and falling in love (aaw). Since then, have worked in the pet industry, and then into law as a way to get a stable job while weaselling my way into art/games. It has always really been my true love, I just didn’t think I would ever be “good enough.” However I have had enough of that mind set and will prevail one day.
Recently started 3d modelling and oh my do I love it. I had dabbled briefly about three years ago but struggled with the nature of the tutorials I used – tried again and this time I am hooked.
So here is my hopeful journey into the industry. I just turned 31 recently and thought; argh – getting too old, better get cracking if I want to do this! So I am leaping in with both feet, developing skills in 2d and 3d in the hope of the next 2-5 years being very productive indeed.
More images to follow; for now - today I had my first foray into zbrush and I am SO excited at the potential!

Don't have much to say at the moment (I am a student myself), but just wanted to say good luck
Oo also you are probably already better at zbrush than me I just can't get the hang of it XD
Thanks for the hello! I'm really enjoying Zbrush! Only braved opening the program this week - I can see a long future of possibilities and dinosaurs opening up before me!
Talking of dinosaurs... a bit more work on this dude.
I am still working on the pony - using her to learn marmoset and have already learnt the importance of having a good quality base model (cue several hours of frustration as to why she initially looked awful in marmoset!) I decided to start on a more complicated human model, based on my own concept art - he's rather creepy without any eyes...
I like the look of that sci-fi piece also, it kinda reminds me of invader zim...but I think it's just because of the colors at the moment. haha I'm looking forward updates.
The SciFi set is part of a tutorial that I will hopefully finish soon... keep getting distracted by characters over enviros!
Almost finished modelling; Just his hair and cloak to do and then tweaking. Hair has proven to be the hardest part to get right on this guy.
Thank you that is incredibly sweet. She is my first full model and texture so that really means a lot (Although the texture itself is very basic - good old Marmoset!)
Finished my first human character model! Took a while, made lots of mistakes, but he taught me so much. Really exciting. Now I need to make him a chicken mount (don't ask.)
I'm also a beginner in Maya 2013 and I use it with my Zbrush work
Moving on to the hair next. Hoping to get her modelled and unwrapped by the end of the weekend.
And Barb with a very, very rough Ambient Occ. I love this stage.
PS - oven baked broccoli. Best thing ever.
