Well.... I was hoping someone might post so that I didn't have to follow Jo's awesome grenade that he probably did in less than half the time that I did but here goes :P (Amazing job Joe)
Figured I would throw my hat in the ring. Loved the film and the designs. One of the things special to me was the modified GTR. Since Aaron Beck already got his hands on my favorite care; I decided would do the next best thing.
A Dodge Challenger.
haven't driven one in a while...but man I love the design of that car.
Wow, so much awesomeness in this Art Jam! It's cool that so many people had a go at the grenade, it was fun watching people work at this in hangouts!
@gilesruscoe: Glad you took part Giles! Really sweet piece, I hope you find time to finish this off before Friday Looking forward to what Gemma makes too!
@Harford: Nice work Joe, still can't believe it only took you 3hrs!
@Mathew O: Sweet nade man, came out clean and tasty
@TeriyakiStyle: Was fun watching you make this in hangouts Matt, looks like he's switching chems for Chemrails!
@Elijah: Damn dude, that's just awesome, great entry!
@Kazperstan: Such a cool piece and so nicely rendered, congrats again getting featured by Keyshot!
Here's my finished image. I modeled and rendered this in a program which was completely new to me, so this has been a fun but challenging two weeks! Thanks to Harford and metalliandy for helping me get my head around the program.
Thanks to everyone who has entered so far, so much awesomeness has been made! And feel free to post up after Friday if you're running late.
A new challenge will be starting tomorrow, so get your tablets & graphic monitors ready!!
This theme will run for two weeks. There will be no sub-theme for this challenge.
Subjects can range from characters to props...See something in Luigi's garage to model? Go for it.
Big or small, you have two weeks to complete it to the best of your ability.
Don't worry about every little nuance trying to 'get it right'.
Do what you can...post as you go and post often!
And most importantly... Have Fun!
Pixar, home to some of the most iconic and memorable characters in animation today. Backed by great voice acting and excellent stories, Pixar films take the viewer to a place to enjoy.
I was actually late to the Toy Story party having seen Monster's Inc first.
Between the fur and those incredible eye textures, it was easy to get sucked into a 'what if' scenario.
As Walt Disney Pictures releases all of the films, you get high quality animation.
Monster's University is in theaters now, as is Planes, the spin-off by Disney of the 'Cars' movie series.
Another update. Retopoed the hair forms, cleaned up the face, fixed the ear...through on some polypaint to see how it was looking. Though I know I won't be using that and the hair will be different....I think I am close enough to move on to the costume.
I'll probs never finish this but here have the wip toy story holds a special place in my heart so does this lovely lady haha I'll edit the finished image when done
Making progress. Everything is unwrapped. Made a few time wasting mistakes. Not sure if I will finish in time, but I'll do my best to get some color and texture on her.
I was originally planning to have this Art Jam focus on Rockstar and GTA-V, however with recent news of the death of Nintendo's former president Hiroshi Yamauchi, it felt far more fitting to have a Jam that celebrates all of the Nintendo goodness out there.
This is an extremely wide topic but a place to show everyone what you love about Nintendo! Show us your favourite level, character or even console!
2D and 3D are welcome. Feel free to post you Work In Progress shots in this thread, I will try and do the same. Again, there is no weekly challenge this time, so you have two weeks to make something awesome or even do a couple of pieces -this is a jam so just let rip! Feel free to drop me a pm if you have any questions.
For more information about Hiroshi Yamauchi's work, see the following video:

RIP Yamauchi San.. Hard to pick a favorite, decided to make a sculpt of Link based on this original Zelda concept by Katsuya Terada. Heh, in those days illustrations of scenes from games was the equivalent of today's CG trailers..
Posing him up and working on the rest of the scene now, gonna try working quite loose with this and working asymmetrically..
Bao92: Nice work! Although for next time it's best to do something specifically for the Jam - it's a nice mini challenege for yourself. The new one's up tomorrow, hope to see you there
Zbyszko: Nice work, looks clean. I'm really glad you still posted it up.
I ended up doing a pirhana plant for this Jam. I started Phoenix Wright but realised that while he's on Nintendo, he's Capcom, so I ended up busting this out quite quickly. Textured shots in Marmoset.
I sprained my arm last Friday so I had to let it rest a bit, but I did a few quick studies looking at a couple of Mario game icons and some of their possible real world inspirations:
After the recent announcements on Steam I thought it would be a good idea to have a Valve Art Jam! This one will be very open, so pick your favorite Valve title and make whatever you like! Why not make some prediction fan art for Half-Life 3? Anything off the Valve Steam Catalog is fine, and you could even make something for a game they might release!
Just to be clear, all art related submissions are welcome, both 2D and 3D. You could make a game ready asset, sculpt, drawing, painting, pixel art, etc.

Decided to go with the laptop, also rendered in Keyshot
This is my first time taking part in this art jam, so any feedback would be highly appreciated
Sweet job so far everyone. This has been a lot of fun, I'm glad we all did the same nade :P
Elijah, that's way too cool.
That's awesome Aran. I hate that thing, but love your model
''Stop talking''.

@Aran Anderson: The art book is so cool isn't it? Nice piece, that guy/dummy was quite creepy in the movie!
@MrsNomingtons: Awesome work Mira, the rendered turned out really good, and those scratches definitely add to it!
Here's my WIP of the CHEMRAIL rifle:
=P

Pixar Movie List
Just a pixar themed sketch I did as a warmup today
Thinkin 'bout doin 3 or 4 heads here
That's it for me!
did some Up fan art for the art jam
Here's some very delayed work from the Elysium Jam:
One smoothed Modo render:
And one baked Marmoset render:
Based on THIS concept
I've also got a Pixar work in progress shot:
After discovering the joy of quick rigging in Modo I'd like to add a character too, maybe too ambitious at this point but I'll try.
I added a CDA guy this morning - his limbs aren't quite stubby enough at this stage but we'll see how it goes.
Wow! How did I miss that one? Amazing.
Too much Rope Hair...:(

Disney, Pixar, Star wars so the next will be Dreamworks i guess.
something iwas working on before the jam but i thought this would fit in
Noliac1: Great piece - very apt.
Randomself: Good on you, asymmetry's a tough nut.
