Hi guys!
I havent posted here before or on Polycount for awhile. I had an awesome gig at Rhythm & Hues for about a year until last week. Hopefully they'll come out of the bankruptcy stuff just fine. It was great though super glad I got in, I learned a ton and had a lot of fun!
Anyways, I'm revamping my portfolio since I can't publically show the work I did while at Rhythm (quite yet) so I'm working on personal stuff and applying places.
This piece is for Patrick Hanenberger and Christian Shellewald's project Kolonie, I've been helping them for a bit and it's been great fun! They're awesome guys and they have super sweet concepts! http://www.diekolonie.org/kolonie/about.html
This is their Walker concept modeled in Maya and textured in Mari! It's made for UDK so no crazy visual effects tricks on the texture mapping.
brittanydrewapictureSorry to hear that. Yeah I've had a couple friends be affected by this whole visual effects industry hit it's taking right now. As someone who aspires to jump over to vfx at some point I hope things straighten out and I hope you land back on your feet!
As far as the walker it doesnt look like it's actually in UDK. You should put it in UDK and then post that up.
Model looks good, however the random and abrupt scratches are a turn off.
Isn't the MP7 a NATO weapon? It wouldn't see the heat of battle so you wouldn't need so much wear and tear. Just a good base texture and spec map. This might also help: https://www.3dmotive.com/f101202
LOVE how this turned out Ravenslayer. And always awesome too see a timelaps, but for the timelaps it feels too fast that its hard to see what you are doing, half that speed I think would have worked better.
I hear some people are having trouble to get the brush to work
I included the alfa in this DL so hopefully you can apply it to a standard brush to get it to work
sorry for the inconvenience in advance
Ooohh that is interesting Obscura. You have this running inside UDK? Custom node or doing some trickery with the built in nodes in some crazy configuration? Color me curious sir!
Hi, yes its UDK. No, not custom. Yes, pretty crazy because of the definition of each samples (currently 4). Once i finished, i will show the material, or i will share the package.

This is just what I'll need soon for my current project! Thanks man!
Deckards gun!
9530 tris, Rendered in maya viewport with PBL-shader.
awe, super nice man, I started on the same prop a while back and never got around to texturing it, I got all distracted with how to do the grip as amber and never got to where I wanted, thought I think I have some ideas now, will have to revisit
Hazardous - She is beautiful! I like your works, you are very good.
I have one remark.Your turntable is vibrating so hard in Opera when i trying to rotate.Works fine in Firefox, but in Google Chrome, after a few rotation, i cant continue rotating it.It freezes or i dont know.
Edit - I tried out once again in Chrome, and now worked fine too...

Jesus, dude. You can give people feedback on their work without being a prick about it.
Stop being an asshole, c&c or gtfo.
Anyway, here's the latest portfolio piece I'm working on.
Started this project while back, but didn't have a chance to get things going until now.
Some attachments needs edges loosen up, I'll be working on this.
Working on this, early days..

i rather have feedback that points me in the right direction then people praising me.

If you still want wear and tear just look up photos of guns in battle zones to get an idea of were the most commonly worn and used parts of a gun are. http://www.wallm.com/images/2013/01/us-marine-soldier-344959.jpg
Also the main body is completely flat, you should add a faint detail noise normal map to give it a more plastic look. http://tinyurl.com/c8ubduf

But still, SICK Hydralisk!
Here's a project that I did as part of a class "Character for Games" at Gnomon School of VFX, with instructor Jackson Robinson (Onelunglewis).

Some people were asking for some extra views - so here are some green clay shots!
I like what's going on with the metal textures/material.

hmmm useful idea, thank you. do you mean refracting based on the object thickness?
Need to get through character pipeline and get my portfolio going.

I think I'm hooked on bots.
Only critique is that her lips look a little sloppy compared to the rest of the rendering.
A sketch i decided to go a little further with. Not sure on the genre yet...Steampunk feudal Japan maybe?

Here is a spin of the Marilyn2200 bust - just click and drag on the image once its fully loaded to rotate around her in 360 glory!
Edit: Just looked up Keyshot VR, seems really cool!
