First time working in sub-D, trying to make a GMG (grenade machine gun) which will eventually be mounted onto a turret. Hoping to texture with DDO and to test it out.
I've thrown that sumd00d into UDK, just cloned my SP eyes heh, progressed with the texture more. I think this is all am gonna get out of it with this generic asshole, but a fun contrast being completely handpainted.
Hey guys, this is amazing. When i had started the first "what is everyone working on?" thread back in 04, i had no idea what it would turn into, hell i didnt even know it'd quickly become a sticky!
Anyways, ive been workin on an Hk P30 high poly, and ive started streaming all of my work as of today. Please follow me at http://www.justin.tv/krayzietv I will try streaming on a daily basis for all you guys.
I've always had this dream of drawing something that Hazardous would want to model. A guy can dream, can't he?
Been reading up on Pagan folklore, a LOT of cultures had goat-people in their stories. This one is inspired by Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream, so I called her Puckette.
Cushers: Really admire the level of detail you're working on, my eyes weren't sharp enough to notice the eyes first time round, the subtle difference is nice!
Grayson: Very cool chair! buckets of character got a link to the concept?
you sure, i think the top of the reciever needs to be a bit thicker, but overall i think its about right. i will have another look though. it looks decent from a first person perspective, so maybe its okay.
Besides that, you have a whole bunch of other inaccuracies like the gas tube, small details on both sides of the gun, rear sight etc. You might whanna take a closer look at your refs. Right now, all the details that define the AKM are almost non existent.

thanks man, i was thinking of remaking the entire top reciever to e honest, there are some really bad innacuracies that i cant believe i didnt notice. i will definetly be making it thicker, thanks for the pictures.
also, nice job finding the rear sight pictures, i couldnt seem to get any good ones, so thats awesome. ive had to make it from guessing, and it hasnt turned out as i hoped. other than that, i will be adding all that lower detail soon. thanks!

Crossposted from here. High poly Jagdpanther tank model. Finished my first portfolio ready piece (in my humble opinion). Will revisit it at a later date to bake down to a lower poly mesh.
My 1st attempt using dynamesh from a sphere, surprised it's turned out this well to be honest as I didn't even have reference for most of it, probably shows to those more experinced though. Would anyone mind doing a quick proportions check before I go further with this?
How do you color the sculpted stubble? Some sort of selection mask in zbrush or cavity bake? Appreciate anyone's input on this. Great work btw Mask_Salesman
ah Almighty_Gir it's less good and more the least amount of bad I can beat out of it haha

oh right, i get it now. the back sort of block bit is on a slider, thats why there is the bit in the middle. thanks, that will help a lot man!

That's Moof, that means a lot coming from you. But I'm actually a guy.

Your model is pretty inaccurate overall. As mentioned before, its too thin;

Is that Balsa the Spear warrior by any chance (Seirei no Moribito)?
Loved that one, hehe.
Nice work, looks quite similar from what i can recall!
Maybe only the biceps area feels a bit thin...iirc, she was a bit more muscular:

have you got any more of the rear sight picture?
i could really use them.
heres my current one, i was wondering whether it would be worth modelling those grooves into the sight, or just using a texture.
Thanks ysalex! I agree with moof great texturing, especially on the chest piece.
