I've created a few of these videos over the past few months (years?). This is my latest working on a level for my Half-Life² mod Off Limits: http://www.youtube.com/v/45U85dI6zjs?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0&hd=1&color1=0xe1600f&color2=0xfebd01 More videos can be found here: http://www.wesleytack.com/?cat=16 I hope to have the final…
There are some newer rigging features in 2017+ worth checking out, if you just want something quick https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-B94BF35E-4AC5-4C46-B61B-566BB80BAA60-htm.html
I wanted to find out if for example,u create an asset u need to duplicate all over a scene,if u duplicate the object as an instance will it add to the viewport dragging and rendering or its just a projection/reference of the original mesh in another location in the scene, hence making the scene lighter. I remember reading…
wasn't sure where to post this, i did it in general discussion. Hello community. I have made my first script and its fairly simple. set selected objects materials to standard gray and wireframe color to black in one simple button click. hope you enjoy it. here is the download link :…
Max be buggin' on me ass =(¨ For some reason whenever I have more then two textures activated in my material, max kills my normal map... more or less. Its still there, its just very very weak. Scanline renders it correct tho. Now everythings fine and dandy with two textures, be it normal/spec or say normal/dif no matter,…
I have this really odd problem where I can't scale things like edge loops of a cylindrical object on all 3 axis, but instead on on 1, or 2. I don't know what I'm accidentally hitting, but my cursor basically goes from being a triangle that is closed (3-axis scaling) to a triangle that looks like its unwrapped. How do I…
So I decided to change from Maya to Max today, installed everything fine and I boot it up. I go into shaded mode and the mesh starts blurring and moving across the screen. When I go into wireframe mode, it stops. After working for a while in wireframe mode, I changed to realistic and the object starts shaking, with the…
Anyone know if Max can do this? I am scaling vertices, using the world center as the scale center. So, each vertex has its own scale axis... starting at world center, and going thru the vertex. That's good. But I want to flatten them all to an angled grid, along those same vectors. How would I do this?
How can I link an object (that should not deform) to a mesh with a morph modifier? So that when I morph the mesh to another position the object follows. I do not want to use skin wrap since this is for non-deformable objects like for example props as opposed to deformable clothes. I tried attachment constraint but it does…
I need normals of border vertices on object A to match normals of vertices in same coordinates of object B, basically to fix the seam without affecting object B. Tried noors normal thief and it does almost that, except there is still a small split that prevents smooth shading. Interestingly enough is that in-house tool…
