Is it possible to have separate UV maps for a merged object? That is the question. Can I have one object but separate uv maps for different polygon groups without the UV maps overlapping? Thank you.
Hey!I have watched this tutorial on youtube and I would like to know how does he make the object look smooth (I assume he's pressing "3") without increasing the number of polygons. Any idea?
Here is what i do: Also noticed also other anomalies. 1 for exaple is when i changed polygon Subdiv axis from 20 something else i lost also the middle ring. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

Hey does anybody know how to optimize Maya so high poly imports are possible? Max doesn't seem to have a problem with 6m polygon imports yet Maya chokes at anything above 750k. Anybody have a solution? Thanks
Character I'm working on that is budgeted at 1200 polygons. Body is normal mapped. Wings are wip being normal mapped. Not yet diffuse(RGB color) mapped. Texture size: 512^2 Here's the concept: Wireframe: WIP Render: Any suggestions or critiques would be appreciated.
Probably interactive. By 'shader' do you mean, material? Maya, error messages, does that happen? Seriously though, I don't think I could move a polygon in Maya without getting an error message (not literally, but Maya does love to give error messages).
Keep in mind,negative space in objects means more polygons. That drum could have the ropes touching the surface of the drum, and bake everything into a single cylinder with less than 100 polys
What exactly is the problem you are trying to correct? Are both the barriers supposed to look the same? Are they instances of the same object or is that one object sharing UVs? Duplicate polygons overlapping on the bright one?
