I have 2010 & 2014 versions installed right now. In 2010 normals looks good, nothing flipped. But in 2014 looks like normals of some uv islands are flipped(or some channel is flipped there). I tried to change display normals option (3ds max, maya, dx) but nothing helped. Help please

hi guys! Every time I try to scale along one axis in 3DS max 2014. it doesnt seem to work. Things now scale all the way out of wack in one direction, or squished like a pancake towards the center. Why did this suddenly start happening? I've been using max 2014 for so long with no issues :(
